New Big 12 will be much, much tougher - Big 12 Blog - ESPN

The result will be a brutal league in 2012 that's going to leave a whole lot of fans disappointed. Somebody's got to be. Three defending league champions will be taking the field in the Big 12 this season. Six (!) teams are coming off of 10-win seasons in 2011.

Let that challenge be there then. A long as we keep improving that's ask I can ask. We aren't the big ten where every week it's a cake walk.

Did you notice the sidebar listing of Big 12 teams? It has A&M and Missouri and no TCU or WVU. You'd think they would have made the change right away yesterday, especially with this story running.

Yeah, I noticed that right away as well. You'd think ESPN would be more on the ball. They hadn't updated the SEC team logos yet either.

Sure the league all around will be tougher, but we did lose to A&M and Mizzou last year anyway so there's only one way to go in terms of new conference opponents.

He seems pretty high on the mountain west and big east newcomers. We'll see if they can hang for 9 weeks with the big dogs. We will see.

Another football fun fact from phil: ISU has the 3rd toughest schedule this year. If you're wondering who had the toughest schedule last year - yep, it was ISU. Seems like every year we are in the top 3 or 4.

We always have one of the toughest schedules because we don't play ourselves. Like it or not we are at or near the bottom of the conference every year and every other team has isu on their schedule to ease it up. We don't.

Never in a million years would I have guessed that the Big 12 could be in a position to add Florida State and make the conference easier by doing so. It's going to be Murderer's Row this year.

I brought this up a while ago in an expansion thread. I was one of the only posters who was against Clemson and FSU joining the Big 12, because it would further stamp our place at the basement of the conference. We can't keep adding really good teams and expect to not get buried. Someone has to lose.
