I'd avoid El Paso again before I avoided Waco (assuming ISU never plays in the Sun Bowl). Holy hell that place was a hell hole...

Having lived and paid property taxes in Texas for more than 15 years . . . here is my summary:

Too dry
Too hot
Too paved
Too crowded
Too much crime
Too much traffic
Too many fire ants

Too many non Texans flooding the State.

Other than that . . it was a decent place to live . . if you could find a place far enough away from semi trucks and freeways. The good ole boy Texans are a dying breed with Austin yuppie values dominating the state.

seriously? did you just go to austin and dallas? you know texas is a bit bigger than the I35 corridor. Too paved, wtf does that even mean. Too populated? yeah, there are big cities. according to google, there are also 47 counties in Texas with a lower population that the smallest in iowa. Probably full of austin yuppies. (also 10 bigger than any in iowa)

I've lived in waco, san antonio, lubbock, amarillo. family in dallas, houston, austin. Houston is the only one that fits most of those, and then it's humid as hell.

you are way off on a majority of the state, except maybe the messican invasion. Even then, they can't survive the winters in the panhandle though we've already lost El paso.


I'm not slamming iowa or anyone else at all, I'd probably like it as I prefer the middle sized towns in Texas. Just crazy off base with that post and some of the other hate in here.

I've lived in a lot of places but I like Texas the most. The real Texans are very good folks Even the Aggies. Waco is a good town. The Texas Ranger Museum and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame are excellent. I like Houston as well.
