“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -

Stan Parrish and Doug Weaver were in a class all of their own. Weaver was a very nice guy. His punters were great from so much practice. To give them a break, he would call for a quick kick on third down.

Re: K State Makes This Top 20 List Twice!
They forgot Turner Gill, who inherited a program with three bowl wins (including an Orange Bowl) in the previous five years, and took only two seasons to turn it into a steaming pile of ****. 1-16 in conference play, a mark which remarkably doesn't include a 6-3 loss to South Dakota State. And, not for nothing, but for all the talk about how great of a leader and person he was, nearly half of his roster allegedly had at least one F during their final semester under Gill.
I can't imagine all twenty of these coaches were worse than the two years of misery he gave to Kansas, taking $10 million while doing it.

Anyone click on the Wonderlic scores on the side? Of course Darren Davis was number one, but what they said about him baffled me. According to the article, he was the leading rusher in the BIG TEN. What a crock of ****.
If you cant dazzle them with brilliance; baffle them with bull****. -

Weren't there some horrible stretches (decades?) in the 60s and 70s at Iowa? Thought some of those might make it.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. -
