Dress Code in Oklahoma Schools

You think this is a good dress code rule?...Oklahoma youngster forced to turn his Michigan shirt inside out at school | Dr. Saturday - Yahoo! Sports

Either you allow jerseys, shirts, etc. from schools or you don't. None of this OK schools are Okay, but no others garbage. There is no legitimate reason for the rule the way it stands.

Since I'm guessing there is no legitimate reason to not allow other team's attire, no I'd say it's stupid. If they wanted to say no team apparel at all then fine, still stupid but at least it's fair across the board. But it is the south, so I take all news with a grain of redneck salt.

if they add in a clause for ISU stuff, I'll support it.

I saw that too, I can't imagine they can withhold a diploma from someone who has successfully completed all the coursework necessary to graduate. I mean I could see how they could stop someone from walking or participating in the ceremony, but not stop someone from receiving a diploma.

The rule had something to do with gang problems. Sadly one of those things where you can't let lil kids do it because then it would be discrimination agaisnt the people who the rule was meant to keep in line. Read a diff article where the superinetendent said they are going to look at changing the rule.

That still doesn't explain why they allowed OU, OSU and other OK school gear but limited others. If school gear is being worn by gangs and causing a problem, just limit them all. I'm pretty sure there are no OK gang members sporting Upper Iowa University gear, but that was banned by the rule as well.

Is there some gang that wears only sports apparel from teams outside of Oklahoma? Seems awfully specific, but I haven't banged in a minute.

Although a high school diploma is absolutely worthless once you get your college degree, so she might as well tell the principal to kiss her ***.
