    Need Rule Change for "Fumbles"

In my opinion, i think the NCAA should change the rules and any "pass" that doesn't go past the line of scrimmage is considered a fumble as it's not really a pass. Thoughts?

I'm not sure if I like using the LOS as the key point. I wouldn't mind, however, if the pass must be overhand/throwing-motion (i.e., like a normal pass) to have the "incomplete pass" protection against a fumble.

Not sure if this is serious since I'm not watching the game, but no.

I agree with this too... if you aren't in a "throwing motion" it's not a pass.

Why not? If it doesn't go past the LOS it's basically a "pitch", not a pass. Let's just make them live balls. It'll make the game more fun ;)

I think shovel passes should not be considered passes, but hand offs. LOS is not determining factor for me, traditional throwing motion is what I would go with (like hawk hunter said). That being the case, all forward passes by Taylor Martinez are live balls.

I don't know about that. I saw a pretty good one this morning on BTN. And it's interesting to watch the chiz try to keep his job.

Re: Need Rule Change for "Fumbles"

Most of the time, it's pretty easy to see intent. Just like RGIII against us last year. His intent was not to throw the ball, and that was obvious. Penalties are allowed to be called at the discretion of the referee, why can't a fumble or incomplete pass be called the same way? I've never understood why this is such a hard thing to figure out. It's pretty obvious to everyone watching most games weather or not a person was actually trying to pass the ball, tuck it, or flip it to another player.
