A lot of smoke about Gundy to Tennessee
God I hope he goes and OSU hires Chizik. Second part isn't going to happen but it would be wonderful.

Will Boone fork over more coaching money?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

It would be a tough loss for that program if he does leave. Outside of CPR, he is my favorite Big 12 coach.

I'd say the chances of him leaving are slim to none.....but what do I know?

Re: A lot of smoke about Gundy to Tennessee
Yes yes oh please yes. 2 teams that can't be good so often so that ISU can finish better in B12- OSU and TTU.
Would be great if CPR can get us in position that we don't lose to them, Baylor, TCU and KU. Then when Snyder hangs it up, We can split between KSU and WVU each year.

Re: A lot of smoke about Gundy to Tennessee
At this point is OSU a better coaching job that Tennessee? Maybe temporarily, but my guess is long term you have better conditions to succeed at Tennessee.....

Dream scenario for Big 12 coaches:
Gundy to Tennessee
Briles to Arkansas
Snyder wins Fiesta Bowl and re-retires
Even if 1 or 2 of those programs made perfect new hires, you would think there'd be enough chaos in the middle tier of the conference for an ISU program with momentum to rise up and solidify a place amongst that group.

Re: A lot of smoke about Gundy to Tennessee
The fact that Tennessee has fallen on such hard times is hard to believe. I use to follow them a lot in the 90's when Peyton was there. They've always kind of been my second favorite team.

Re: A lot of smoke about Gundy to Tennessee
Not sure they'll be a drop-off if he leaves (they can hire someone big if they want), so I'm hoping he stays. No need to set a precedent for a coach in an otherwise perfect position (his alma mater) leaving for money... Makes me worry about CPR leaving someday if the right offer comes around, and it will if this recruiting keeps up...
CPR for the long haul is ISU's best chance at changing the culture and the perception of ISU football. I would think that OSU has to think the same about Gundy, but you never know. Sounds like Gundy is pushing to get rid of the marquee match-ups the AD keeps scheduling in the preseason.

Re: A lot of smoke about Gundy to Tennessee
Gundy isn't going to leave. I'd say there is a better chance that CPR leaves ISU before Gundy leaves OSU, and I think CPR will be around for a while.

Re: A lot of smoke about Gundy to Tennessee
There's a lot of talk that Gundy has a bad relationship with the OSU AD.
I'd have to think that T. Boone would be smart enough to boot that guy rather than lose Gundy. OK State can match or exceed whatever financial opportunity that Tennessee would offer. With Gundy being an alum, it seems pretty unlikely that he'd take what looks like a step down.

Briles doesn't really concern me. Without RG3 he has 5 Big XII wins in 4 years. Snyder isn't going anywhere unless we can round up all the Unicorns and hide them

I know it would make it easier to win in the Big XII, but I don't want to be in an easy conference. I enjoy having pride in the fact that our conference is so deep. And with the way CPR is moving forward, we'll be able to beat those teams just fine.

Isn't it great to say that we are in the best conference in the country?
