Re: Tuberville to Cincinnati??
I don't get the move, must not like it there or some personal reason?
I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story. -

Between 2000 and 2001 Tech only won 7 games a season.
Considering the upheaval of how Leach left and some of the issues they have had down there all while playing a tougher schedule, I think two 8-5 seasons are right about the same as what Tech is use to. Leach wasn't ever going to win more than 9 games on a consistent basis. He had been there forever and had only done it once. Was Tech going to match the success TT had under Leach? Imo, no. He was going to be on the hot seat next year.

Re: Tuberville to Cincinnati??
A guy that wants to work his way back up the coaching ladder. Not going to happen at TTU. It will happen at Cincy

Re: Tuberville to Cincinnati??
People thought Coach Tubs was "done" and just mailing it in when he left Auburn. I was very surprised when he took a Big 12 job. Cincinnati actually makes more sense than TT, if that's the case. He can finish his career and rehabilitate his reputation from what happened at Auburn and his issues at TT. Going to be pretty easy in the Big East now, I think.

Re: Tommy Tuberville to Cincinatti?
Any chance that Texas Tech makes a run at Rhoads? Favorite Teams: Kansas City Chiefs: 2-14, 1st Pick in Draft, QB Acquired, Optimistic future Iowa State Cyclones Basketball: 23-12(11-7) Season Over-Thank you seniors Chicago Cubs: 4-8, Another ugly season incoming. Thank you Ricketts. -

Re: Tommy Tuberville to Cincinatti?
Smacking the GA a few weeks back plus a lackluster finish probably meant it was time for Tubs to go looking for a new home or risk being fired next season. This is Greg McDermott deja vu...and I'm sure TT is probably ok with it.

Tech fans feel more entitled then they should because Leach went out with his best two seasons. Could Tubs get them back to 11 wins seasons, I don't know, but reality says that Tubs could easily keep getting 8 and 9 win seasons given the recruiting which that is all that Tech ever really had under Leach.
The problem is the fan base and the administration. The fans think they are better than 8 and 9 win seasons now because they had a 11 win season. The fans are still in love with Leach (something like a thousand went to see WSU's first game this year) and every thing is compared to Leach. Many fans hate Tubs just because he was hired to by the AD to replace Leach.
As for the administration, Tech AD is driving that athletic department into the ground. The fans and the AD are at odds with each other. The AD shows off Tubs to promote how good of a hire they made (and that ticks off the fans even more) while behind the walls doesn't provide the support Tubs needs to do his job. Tubs is caught between a rock and a hard spot and despite that and a much tougher schedule than Tech is use to, he has managed to put together a couple of 7 win regular seasons and a bowl win. The recruiting has also improved since Leach.
I would compare Tubs situation to what happened to Wayne Morgan here at ISU. Now I think Tubs is a better coach than Morgan was, but there are way too many similarities Former coach had good success and went out in a scandal. AD and fans not connecting. New coach has some success and still fans hated him and he could would have never been able to bring the high level that we expected. Mac was hired. Never showed anywhere near the results and was liked much better for longer.

The SEC is more prestigious than the Big 10 and the Big 12 is more prestigious than the Big East. That isn't even debatable. And comparing the Bielema situation to the Tuberville situation is asinine.
But keep on trollin', brother.
