As of right now...
Big 12: 2 - 0
Big 10: 0 - 1
The way it should be.
2-0 vs. 0-2 right now.
I have no idea what to expect out of Texas, but given their situation and distractions I think I will lean towards a L there. TCU should win though, and the same with West Virginia, bringing the Big 12 to 4-1 and sending the Big Ten to 0-3 at the end of tomorrow.
I'll take ISU over Tulsa, Oklahoma State over Purdue, and say we split and get one of Kansas State or Oklahoma. 7-2 bowl record for the conference.
Just watch... The Big 12 will go 8-1, with the only loss to A&M, and that will be all the SEC homers talk about.
OU has played running QBs all season, beating all but Collin Klein, who draws really no comparisons to Maziel because of height/weight, and Everett Golson. I think OU loses to A&M because of the fact that EG and JM are a lot alike.
I don't think K-State can match Oregon. Imagine last years Rose Bowl. I think that game could look pretty similar with K-State taking 5-7 minutes a drive vs. Oregon with a score in 10 sec. Predict K-State owns the T.O.P. by 20 minutes, and still loses.
Texas is so back and forth that I picked Oregon St. Because teams with some none-struggling offense beat Texas. Baylor was struggling when they played (And ISU struggled the whole season). Kansas's offense was getting it together with the 3 runningbacks, but still couldn't get it done.
Steele Jantz had his 2nd or 3rd best game as a cyclone against Tulsa. For me, I think SR has another strong outing against the crappy Tulsa D. Our D lost Knott from the first game, but Tulsa is a one dimensional run team. I think you see a lot of the Kansas game in this one. Especially with Jermiah George getting more minutes now.
different question: who really wants to see AJ break the LB pick-6 record?
Watching that Tech game last night I kept thinking why didn't we just pound the ball running - Steele kept getting pressured from the Tech pass rush. A game I still find very frustrating we lost. Steele's stats were awful
Steele Jantz 10 for 20, 73 yards - sacked 4 times 1 TD 3 INTs
Unfortunately, I think Texas, OU, and KSU will all lose.
I would have picked Texas before this rape mess came up, but that's too big of a distraction IMO. OU will crap down their pants once again in a bowl game and probably get destroyed. That's just what OU does... get beat in bowl games. And KSU is going to get destroyed by Oregon I'm afraid. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see KSU being able to win that game.
All the rest of the Big 12 bowl games should go our way IMO. So I'm saying 6-3.
As shaky as WV has been this year, I just think they will win big over Syracuse. WV just has too many unbelievable athletes IMO. ISU should win, based on earlier game with Tulsa this year. Okie State is much better than Purdue IMO. TCU might just hold MSU scoreless. And Baylor and TT have already won.
Baylor's near best game results in a blowout over an overated Pac 12 team, Tech's near worst game results in a very fortunate win over a bad 6-6 team who got blown out by Iowa.
Teams in UT's position seem to either pull together and win or get blown out. I'm not really that convinced of Oregon State so I give them a good chance still playing in Texas, Oregon State's record and schedule are slightly suspect imho.
I have UT winning but as my lowest remaining confidence pick, 11-3 so far with only one high confidence game played (did the ESPN one because I don't have a yahoo acct). Who has the best record so far in the cyclone pick 'em group?
I don't see it changing much either. KSU is going to get destroyed IMO.
These bowl games are just stupid though. These games have been horrible football. Both teams are so rusty after not playing for over a month that they can't even get anything going that resembles football for most of the game.
