    The current 10:

    Baylor
    Iowa State
    Kansas
    Kansas State
    Oklahoma
    Oklahoma State
    Texas
    Texas Christian
    Texas Tech
    West Virginia

    The next 6 (gobbled mostly from the ACC before the Big 10 or SEC take them):

    Clemson
    Duke
    Florida State
    Georgia Tech
    Louisville
    Pitt

    Big 10 grabs UNC and UVA, SEC grabs VPI and NCSU, ACC reloads from remainder of Big East (UConn, USF, UCF, Cincinnati, etc.), Big East fades back into C-USA/MAC status with a few Texas, Florida, and east coast directional schools or just merges into the ACC or disbands, Notre Dame stubbornly clings to its independence.

    Completely making all of this up, by the way. :D
