    Big 12 Florida bowl tie-in?

    Looks like the Big 12 is pushing to have at least one bowl in Florida again. This would be great for recruiting and for fans to visit!

    This is long overdue. In fact, why don't we trade two Texas bowls for two Florida bowls. The SEC should be more interested in picking up a Texas bowl now.

    Considering the Big 10/SEC have three bowls together that all play at the same time basically maybe they would like to give up one of them.

    Im hoping we trade pinstripe for a florida bowl.

    In fact i bet pinstripe ends up being a b10\ACC bowl. Both conferences have expressed an interest in having more presence in the NYC market and b10 has talked about wanting to have a bowl not played on opposing turf (in SEC\P10 territory)

    You're in the minority, and my guess is you wont be happy. My guess is the Pinstripe gets traded for the Liberty where you will have a Big 12/SEC match-up of #8 teams.

    We've got a condo near Vero Beach, so that'd be sweet!!! Always liked the Big 8 Orange Bowl tie but the Clones never got there; saw FSU and OU play in 1980 since we were in Florida for a brief winter break. Closest ISU ever got to a Florida bowl was the Peach in 1977. Not bad, but 80 degrees in Miami beats 50 in Atlanta any day!!!

    Just to speculate of what bowls the Big 12 could have reached out to, here are the current non-BCS Florida bowls:
    Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl - St. Petersburg
    Russell Athletic Bowl - Orlando
    Gator Bowl - Jacksonville
    Capital One Bowl - Orlando
    Outback Bowl - Tampa

    I bet the Big 12 reached out to the Russell Athletic Bowl, Gator Bowl, and Beef 'O' Brady's bowl. As much as it would be awesome to have a tie in with Outback or Capital One, I think they are pretty vested in Big Ten/SEC matchups.

    2. Cotton (Big 12 #2 vs. SEC #3)
    3. Gator (Big 12 #3 vs. ACC #3)
    4. BWW (Big 12 #4 vs. Big 10 #4)
    5. Alamo (Big 12 #5 vs. Pac 12 #2)
    6. Holiday (Big 12 #6 vs. Pac 12 #3)
    7. Meineke (Big 12 # 7 vs. Big 10#6)
    8. Liberty (Big 12 #8 vs. SEC #8)
    9. Heart of Dallas (Big 12 #9 vs. Big 10 #7)

    Talked about this a while ago. Russell Athletic Bowl would be the best fit.

    *Used to be a Big 12 tie-in
    *Is currently a Big East-ACC tie-in

    With the Big East falling off the map, and the Big 12 and ACC looking to partner, it would be a great fit.

    I would also like to add the Liberty Bowl, and drop the Pinstripe. We are already losing the Heart of Dallas Bowl beginning next year.

    Drop the Heart of Dallas Bowl (no longer Big 12 bowl) and I could really see this being the new bowl tie in and selection order.
