Could it really get that much worse for us?

On the surface...this seems like there are different rules for football coaches and track coaches. I am sure they are lining up their stories with attorneys because this situation will not look good in court! Fired one coach but only "froze" another's salary...

Well one had a one time incident with a member of the staff that wasnt a direct report, one had a couple year affair with one of her athletes. One is clearly a bigger issue than the other.

One might say that both could be considered worse than the other. A coach engaging in (at least one) one-night stand or a coach entering a romantic relationship. Wonder what type of "counseling" Major had to undergo...alcohol? Will this revelation prevent Major from getting a HC gig?

I dont know, i would say the relationship might be worse as one night is a one time lapse in judgement, while a relationship is a willful continuing violation.

Good point. I would bet this one gets settled out of court! The Major situation complicates things for sure though...

Technically it's not a violation unless it's unreported. I have a feeling Texas made a bigger deal about the track coach's issue since it was a lesbian affair... You know, being in the bible belt and all. Also, her relationship was 10 years ago, and Applewhite was 4 years ago. Also, I believe Applewhite was with a student trainer, not just another in the AD.

Texas is going to make a case for the relationship length and the fact she was a head coach and not an assistant, but they'll likely end up settling out of court. She missed out on nearly $400k a year, so I doubt she settles for much less than $2 million.
