This is a horrible idea. A football conference of say, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State, Northwestern, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Nebraska would make every single one of those schools suffer. Yeah the geographic side would be awesome but those school's budgets would all suffer.
I think the poster is saying the reverse of what you are. That's how it is for everything but football.
WVU has been nothing but a big whiny little you know what since they joined the conference. They easily add more value, but I'd much rather of had Louisville from a harmony standpoint.
Since they were recruited to replace aTm, I wonder if all the ******** they're doing is mandated in their contract? If they start showing up to games with "special mason jars" and male cheerleaders dressed up like Malcolm McDowell in "A Clockwork Orange", we'll know for sure.
(Or, if they start stacking their couch bonfires 70 feet tall & acting like building it is a sacred trust.........what? Too soon?)

I don't see anything wrong with trying to try to make accommodations for WVU to minimize travel. Their requests don't seem unreasonable (as long as other teams don't lose out on Big Monday opportunities). And you could argue that WVU probably figured that we'd probably be taking a couple more teams from their region when the signed on.
Yes, because the time zone difference can be a *****. 8pm game in Lubbock gets over at 10, at 11 you leave the arena, board a plane at 11:30, 2.5 hour flight puts you in Morgantown at the earliest at 3am local time and I wouldn't be completely surprised if they don't fly directly into Morgantown.
OK, but 1:30 AM or 3 AM still sux. I don't see it as that much worse.
