I would love nothing more than to see the demise of the Texas athletic department, unless it somehow tears apart the conference and leads to the end of the Big 12, and we're looking for another conference to join once again.
I know that's a bit far fetched, but some believe this conference is nothing without Texas. I don't necessarily believe that to be true, I just hope the conference remains on solid ground.

Re: Texas in trouble
I don't think it's going to be the end of the Texas athletic department, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear about a lot of affairs that occurred between supervisors/coaches and employees/athletes.

Re: Texas in trouble
The idea that this will end Texas Athletics is laughable. Nothing illegal happened here based on the ABC story posted above several coaches may or may not have had relationships with students. One was a black female who was fired for it while a bunch of old white guys didn't. NCAA won't levy any substantial sanctions for that. If anything Texas might fire the current offenders and DD. At that point they hire a new set of coaches/admins and they move on.
If it causes an extra year to rebuild (I would note that their basketball team sucks now and their football team is far from the top of their game) that does nothing to the big 12. Everyone still has their grant of media rights signed over so nobody is leaving, and the media contracts are all signed so the revenue isn't going anywhere.
This is nothing more than a chance to get the popcorn and drink noted above and enjoy the fireworks if any happen. And I'd note that Texas fans might enjoy the show as well because many have wanted Brown gone for a few seasons now? This may be a chance they need to fire all the overpaid coaches/admins and do so with a lower buyout because they have cause. In the end this could actually be a benefit in the eyes of many longhorn fans.
"Blamo"! The new CF approved swear word. -
Re: Texas in trouble
This may stabilize the conference more. Suddenly Texas loses much of its appeal and the independent route is taken off the table. The only risk left would be Oklahoma running off to the SEC.

Then we just hope that their new hires are complete failures.

Fake Dan Beebe @DanBeebe
I knew I'd end up better off than DeLoss Dodds. I didn't know how, but I knew that man, so... I knew.
Do you know why I put up with this 'pitiful job', Mr. Donaghy, why I fetch these folks' lunches and clean up their barfs? Cause they make television. And more then jazz, or musical theater, or morbid obesity, television is the true American artform.
