The Raleigh-Durham Club of the ISUAA had a gamewatch with the WVU alumni group here in Raleigh last fall. Talking with their group leaders, it sounds like their gamewatches attract 50 people on a bad day, 200+ on a good day. Their leaders also said 2/3 of the people that attend are bandwagon fans that didn't attend WVU, and that the ones that did attend are the ones that go to every gamewatch.
For comparison, our ISU group pulls 15-35 people for football games (out of 330 who get email notices from the ISUAA). Granted, WVU is closer to Raleigh than ISU is, but that gives you an idea on just how many transplant fans they have throughout the east coast.
My impression of WVU alumni/fans is once someone gets a college degree, they GTFO of WV.
It reports that WVU has around 960K fans, compared to ISU's 535K. I think their fans are a lot more homer-ish and vocal than ISU's too, which accounts for the ridiculous amount of call-ins to radio shows.
