CU Recruiting News from the Front Range....

Greetings Clonies- I thought I would pass this along regarding a North division rival.... CU just inked the #1 rated RB in the nation, CU also benefited from the Callahan fallout at kNU...

The Denver Post - No. 1 RB Scott picks CU

I guess that's what a 6-7 season can do for recruiting..........

Good for CU. Looks like them, Missouri and Kansas are all putting together strong classes. Not to mention Nebraska, who seems to have a decent class.

hopefully the north is no longer a punch line, but a punch in the mouth to those south teams...

Re: CU Recruiting News from the Front Range....

To put a spin on this, at least Oklahoma didnt Get Julio Jones the #1 WR prospect he signed with Alabama....Although Oklahoma did get the #1B RB in Calhoun....

The rich get richer.....

CU will be a title contender in the future.....not big 12, but national contender.....Hawkins can flat out coach, he's got the schemes to win, and now that he's getting established in boulder, he can and will out-recruit almost anyone....

Thats too bad, wished he had taken a job in the pac 10!!!!!

Before you enthrone Hawkins as King **** and Colorado as the next USC, keep one thing in mind - Hawkins and CU have to get thru Chizik and ISU first

Re: CU Recruiting News from the Front Range....

I think things are looking very good for the Big 12 North... it was just a season or two ago where the North was like the French army in WWII vs. the Germans. A couple coaching changes, a couple recruiting classes and looky here, we will soon have ourselves a division with several impact teams on the national level again...

Re: CU Recruiting News from the Front Range....

Some perspective on FB recruiting...I think we have a good class but take a look. It is a good thing that STARS are made on the field.

Scout.com: Football Recruiting

The attached shows team ratings (subject to some change with late signs) for 2008 FB recruiting.

ISU is in at 64. The rest of the Big 12 is as follows:

9 - Oklahoma
12 TaM
15 Texas
19 Nebraska
29 Missouri
34 Colorado
36 Okie State
44 K State
45 Kansas
57 Tex Tech
63 Baylor

Somewhere said it was more like #1A and #1B. I think the CU guy is "#2".

Re: CU Recruiting News from the Front Range....

Looking at those b12 recruiting rankings makes me wonder why T.Tech always recruits so poorly for being as good as they are and the 3rd largest stage in the state of Texas. The make a bowl game every year and are always flirting with 10 wins(usually 8-9). What gives?

We are now 63 and baylor is 64, and they dont have Sedrick Johnson listed yet so that should only help us move up!

perhaps Leach recruits the type of players who fit his system best irregardless of the stars by their name... and one would think a 2 star player from TX is still pretty darn good or can develop/grow into the type of player TT wants to compete with....
