house of pain at the end of the third quarter........ wait....
I would say ISU's best annual tradition is our tailgating and the Cy-Hawk trophy. Nobody cares about the Telephone trophy... I think Mizzou and ISU both just really needed a secondary rivalry, and that was the best they could come up with. Even the story behind it is lame. It couldn't be less of a reason to make someone your rival.
CD... are you a cyclone fan?!? Just curious because that is a very outsiderish question.

We have had some kids from our area play for ISU...WBB had Megan Taylor and Angie Welle, Womens Tennis now has Liz Wischer....
Am good friends with Steve Krafcisin asst Coach for Tim Floyd and now you got my friend Mac..
Should also had UND's head football coach now is another Cyclone FB player from the 90's Chris Mussman...
but mainly my question was about the Trophy, because the one we do with NDSU, is special....

Re: History and Trophies
I've never really thought of Mizzou as a rivalry game but I kind of like the trophy because of that fluke event.

Bugeater's Brawl with kNU back at turn of the century?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: History and Trophies
I think we need something for the Neb games...I HATE NEB ALMOST AS MUCH AS IOWA! ALMOST!

Re: History and Trophies
Good to hear, glad to have you, Dags. You will find that Cyclone fans are some of the most rational and good natured fans in all of college sports.
psycln11, you don't remember Jump Around being played for the student section a couple of years ago?
Finally, I was thinking about Nebraska... I don't think they have an actual rival, unless Colorado is one.. That would suck.

Re: History and Trophies
Also have the Sousa Bowl between the two marching bands at ISU and Iowa.

Re: History and Trophies
good to see dags is becoming a Cyclone...I know what its like...I didn't know ANYTHING about Iowa State or traditions before I changed from iowa and became a Cyclone for life in about freshman year of HS. Just ask a Cyclone in person about anything like that stuff, I am SURE they will be more than happy to fill you in and talk about their school and team.
