Why do you redshirt 4 players when you need all the help you can get to win??
Yeah, reminds me of Greg Oostertag and Bryant Reeves. I hated those guys.

Isnt one of the best players from the state of Nebraska coming to ISU next year?? I know if you are a Nebraska kid to be on the football team is a HUGE deal, I guess its not the same for basketball.

I'm not an expert on sports, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

Nebraska will not surpass ISU for long. And that sentence was ended with what? A period.

The college game is guard-driven, can we say Nebraska was forced to start two walk-ons in its back court, walk-ons who were recruited to provide backup support (Petey, Sean)?

The schedule isn't the key factor; team experience is the key factor.

Bunk.

Okay you see this is what bugs me to death, "Can we say Nebraska lost its best three-point shooter and best passer (Lucca Staiger)? " my question for you is can you honestly say that lucca is our best shooter or best passer, what are u basing ur conclusions on? The only good thing that came out of the lucca situation is the fact that some cyclone fans have another excuse when we are bad.

Walk On

Re: Nebraska BBall Program Now better than Us

Sadler Redshirted the four players for a couple of reasons. First, needed time to develop them more. It's Sadler's hope that players with 3-5 years of experience in the program will have some sort of shot to hang with the Kansas's of the world. It's almost a Mid-Major view of building a program.

Secondly, by RSing these players (and with the new recruits coming in), it will even out the classes nicely for the future. This year Maric is the only senior, so next year NU will have
4 SRs (1 walk on)
4 JRs (1 walk on)
3 SOs
4 FR (1 walk on)

Also, NU has had a winning record each of the Sadler's two years. Not a big deal, but with the lack of talent he inherited, he's done a great job.

Hopefully, NU can get the new arena thing figured out soon. I haven't seen a team play harder than NU yet. This NU fan doesn't want to see Doc go anywhere.

I'm surprised nobody commented on this. I'm as hopeful as anyone that Lucca will be a good player and be ready to contribute right away, but to say that he is already our best shooter (maybe true), and our best passer (I'll certainly reserve judgement on this) is a little goofy. People need to temper expectations a little. I don't think he's the second coming of Detlef Schrempf quite yet.

Agreed. I've said it here before: If we all think Lucca is going to be the best player on our team without even having seen him play, can we agree now not to play Chicken Little the first time he has a bad game next year?

Rmember that Doc showed up in Aug and Eik was set where he was ogoing. See who gets Jerrell Crayton of Bellevue East next year. He almost singlehandedly won the big class state championship with 73 points and 43 boards in 3 games. He may grow to 6-8 from 6-6 since he has size 17 shoes and is young.

At Creighton, Dana Altman has his best group of young players ever and will load with the two other two good players from the state outside of Wes.

All he did is post an NCAA 2nd round berth, and an NIT Final 4 in 3 years.

From some of your posts I've wondered if you were a secret Hawk fan. But now I think we might have an answer. You're really a WM lover and apoligest. No matter what coach we had you would have been tearing him down. Morgan is gone and no one has hired him which may mean that others were not so sure he was a great coach. He's gone and won't be back so LET IT GO!

Maybe Wayne gave him a free year of HBO when he installed his satellite dish.

The race is on. Clones have won 14, Hawks have won 13. Hawks ned two more wins to pass us since we beat them earlier. Drake has 28 wins, more than Hawks and us put together. Yeah, but....
