Pierre Pierce imitation in Lincoln

One of Nebraska's starting offensive lineman, pulled his best Pierre Pierce imitation over the weekend. In addition to being suspended from the team, he is still in jail.

Typical Omaha media coverage of the incident was buried on 4th or 5th page of the World Herald sports section. A very small article. Their website doesn't even have the story posted.

Give the Lincoln Journal Star credit for posting it on their website.

Re: Pierre Pierce immitation in Lincoln

I saw this last night at the bar on the ESPN bottom line. Didn't catch what happened other than a Husker offensive lineman was suspended and in jail.

Re: Pierre Pierce imitation in Lincoln

World Herald finally starting to pick up the story. Wasn't on talk radio yesterday, but they are discussing today. Pretty serious issue based on the bail amount, and the charge. In order to have 1st degree sexual assault there needs to be "penetration". The same judge yesterday set the exact same bail for a guy raping a 5-year old. Call in show is trying to rationalize his behavior.

On a related note 3 current and 2 ex-Cornhuskers were also arrested over the weekend. Charges seem very minor - college kids doing what college kids do, so I am certainly not throwing stones. But for Purify it is his 4th run in with the law in the last 10 months. First issue was slapping a girl in a bar, second DUI, and the 3rd was a probation violation for driving with a suspended license. The 3rd offense is just coming to light today. But happened in October, but conveniently swept under the rug because they had games still to play last fall.
