WHy does Greg Popovich associate with Kelvin Sampson?

I thought Pop was classier than to hang out with the likes of Sampson.
Is Popovich going to hire Sampson as a Spurs assistant?

From last night's Spurs v. Pistons game:

Okay no doubt he's cheated to get better players. He's still a great coach. The Pro's are probably a better place for him to be.

Kelvin Sampson should go a commercial for Sprint, Verizon, AllTell, AT&T, Cingular, or any other cell phone company. That would be pure gold!

Clearly, Sampson has a problem following the rules. However, he is a fine BB coach and in the grand scheme of things the rules he broke were relatively minor. Again, I am not condoning anything he did at all...but this is not on a level with what Dave Bliss had going on at Baylor for example.
