Talib tested positive 3 times!

That will hurt his stock big time. His best bet now I'd think would be going to the Patriots in the 2nd round. Bellichick could make him walk a straight line.

You are absolutely correct, Belichick would only condone a banned substance that is performance enhancing (HGH, steroids = Rodney Harrison) and can help his chances for winning. He will do or allow anything to be done to win (spygate). Heck, now that I think of it, do any of you honestly believe Randy Moss has been "marijuana free" since he has been a Patriot? Moss is clearly a pot head and I would bet the farm he has been firing up joints as a Patriot.

Re: Talib tested positive 3 times!

Belichick will do anything to win... how does that make him any different from any other coach? I highly doubt he'd be the one over at Victor Conte's house picking up the drugs for Talib. I highly doubt Belichick "condoned" Harrison's abuse.

30 other coaches probably would have taped plays too if they thought they could get away with it.

Ha! And hundreds more baseball players would have done steroids if they thought they would get away with it? No, some people know the difference between right and wrong. Bilichick doesn't, he believes he is above everything.

As for Talib, I heard he would have tested positive a lot more but he didn't even take the test. (could say that in the article but I didn't read it)

Re: Talib tested positive 3 times!

I love how when a pro athlete is caught using marijuana, their penalty is a suspension or a slight "stock" drop....but when Joe public gets caught, they go to jail and will have a tough time getting a job.

I should also add I've never tried it nor plan to. Just think it's funny how we like to shmooze our athletes.

Re: Talib tested positive 3 times!

When exactly did Talib serve his suspensions for these positive tests? I don't remember any.

Re: Talib tested positive 3 times!

On the KU messageboard, they were talking about a suspension that Talib served a couple of years ago and the reason was never disclosed by the Round Coach. That was the only suspension though and they're figuring that this was the reason.

Its funny seeing all the Mizzou fans posting on their site about how the Round Coach will do anything to win......looks a lot like some of the posts on here about Fahreentz.

If you're referring to my post, I was speaking of athletes in general.

If you know anyone that has gone to jail for USING marijuana then they have a terrible lawyer...

Atheletes are given tests by the NCAA and the University seperately. IF they were University tests then he wouldn't HAVE to be suspended. They could recommend treatment or condition him to death, this happens alot at ISU. These are where alot of the 'violating team rules' suspensions come from.

Re: Talib tested positive 3 times!

This is a bit off topic...but does anyone else see the "HotHuskers.com" ad at the very top of the site for this thread? It says "Buy your official RESTORE THE ORDER t-shirts" and "Meet the Husker hotties."

Re: Talib tested positive 3 times!

“He’s got a laundry list of issues,” another team executive said of Talib's off-the-field behavior. “He’s not a one-time offender. Give a guy like him money, and it never gets better. It only gets worse.”

I couldn't agree more.

Did I say it made him different from most or all coaches? I don't think so.

I was purely responding to a previous post that insinuated that Belichick was somehow virtuous with the comment that "Bellichick could make him walk a straight line."

Belichick wants his players performing on the field...I'm sure that he doesn't distribute the performance enhancing drugs himself, but make no mistake, he really doesn't care how Rodney Harrison has done his rehab (ie: with the help of HGH) as long as he is on the field making plays as soon as possible.

As for spygate, as I understand it, all teams were warned privately that this was unacceptable and would not be tolerated (I assume many, if not all, had been doing it in some form or fashion). Belichick continued to do it after being warned and was turned in during the 2006 season...again he was privately told to cease and desist. But he did not and this past season (2007), when he was caught again, they finally handed down some consequences to him and the Pats. As I see it, the difference is that everyone else quit doing it when they were told not to whereas the Pats kept doing it after multiple warnings.
