Check out KU's new football seats. They basically put up metal bleachers in the endzone and added reclining seats and TV screens. You have to pay $2500 to sit in the recliners or $2200 to sit on a freaking stool. Photo gallery is here.
I don't understand why anyone would want to pay that much to sit there. It would be great when they're about to score in front of you but what happens when it's at the other end and you have to watch it on TV? The seats look comfortable but it looks like they would scald you early in the season.
Maybe I'm still too young and into the actual, you know, game, to get the draw.

I'm thinking I can sit at home with the same things and save $2500. Plus, I'd have a better view and my recliner won't stick my butt in August or freeze it in November.

Only in Kansas would people pay a huge premium for seats that are typically the cheapest |

Yeah who wants to sit in the end zone, those seats are horrible. At least put your luxury boxes in the premium places to watch a game.

From the back, one of those blue recliners might be mistaken for a kneeling Mangino.

That rig those seats are on looks like it cost all of $50 to make. It's like the house of sticks.

Really, not a bad idea. It doesn't look like it cost them a lot to do it, it can be taken down easily if it doesn't go over well, and who knows, they might sell a few. Sometimes people are more interested in the "Show for the dough" rather than actually watching the game.

I can guarantee that those seats will be empty (if they're not already removed) by late October and into November. The type of people who will pay $2500 for season tickets for a college team are not the type of people to sit in sub-freezing temps to watch a game.

Fat Mangino jokes will never, EVER, get old to me.... That same article mentions Mangino's new office in the new football complex they built and it almost appears the author couldn't resist making a few jokes of his own. Guests also were treated to a tour of the soon-to-be-completed Anderson Family Football Complex, the most popular stop of which was the super-sized office of head coach Mark Mangino, which is only slightly smaller than the state of Wyoming and comes complete with a personal bathroom/shower facility.
“Look at that shower!” gushed a gray-haired woman, taking a moment to examine the rest room. “What a great shower!” It's true, they spared no expense. It's actually the same shower Shamu uses.

Is this what their BCS money is going towards? I'm glad we've got better management here at ISU, even if we don't have much to work with at the moment.
