Re: The Starting 5 for Kansas all drafted

Glad some of you were able to pick up the sarcasm.

But really, they got their national title that they were after, so who is doubting him? I don't know much about the Illinois case, why he left or why he was let go. Someone care to share? Whatever the reason though, yeah, I bet their fanbase is a little ticked.

And honestly, I really don't like KU...especially after that "phantom 3" they had during our foul shots in Lawrence.

I'm sure KU's fans will be fine.

See, they're waving goodbye to their entire team:

Yes, twice actually. Florida had 5 drafted off their 2007 title team and UCONN had 5 off their 2005 title team. And I agree with the poster above, with all the UNC players that went back for the next year, UNC has a good possibility to send 5 next year especially if they win it all, which they are the odds on favorite at this point.

The year we lost to UNC in the National Championship game how many players did they have drafted?

I guess it was 4
Marvin Williams
Raymond Felton
Sean May
Rashad McCants

All in the top 15

Re: The Starting 5 for Kansas all drafted

Another FYI on the Draft

The University of Connecticut had a record-tying 4 players selected in Round 1. These players were Rudy Gay, Hilton Armstrong, Marcus Williams, and Josh Boone. This tied the record set by Duke University in 1999 (Elton Brand, Trajan Langdon, Corey Maggette and William Avery) and North Carolina (Marvin Williams, Raymond Felton, Sean May and Rashad McCants) in 2005.
When Denham Brown was selected in Round 2 by Seattle, UConn became the first school to ever have 5 players selected in the two-round draft.

That can only help our chances of finally getting back to the top half...

Almost more amazing than #79 Fresno State winning. This means if you want to go pro, you go Kansas.

And on another thread, prognosticators are picking KU either 2nd or 3rd in the conference. That is maybe more amazing than five players being drafted.

KU does not recruit basketball players. They select which McDonald's All Americans they want. They do not rebuild. They reload!

I'm pretty sure Bill Self was not "let go" from Illinois.

Wow im really excitedd, Kansas lost there starting 5 and there still going to be good next year, i wish we could do that lose are best players and still be good, hopefully we'll beat them next year ive had a really sour taste in my mouth ever since that overtime loss about 2 years ago, except i do half to say i like KU fans because they always talk about how great of fans we are and how they dread playing in hilton and it always makes me feel good coming from a top basketball team in the country.

The old Big 12 record was 3. The highest ranked player Beasley was as high as anyone went from the Big 12 (Durant). They will be after HB more as time goes on.
