Yes Nebraska may have more talent than ISU, and did have 10 years ago but the gap between the 2 isnt very big, just look at how close the past 5 games have been. Cottons O line was never very deep at ISU and part of that is due to the fact he didnt build depth. The oline fundamentals technique and were bad under Cotton.
For 2 years he had a upperclass, experenced line that averaged over 300 lbs and they allowed 40 some sacks 2 years in a row and didnt have a running game. Last season ISU had a young, underclassman not much experence line and they cut the sack total in half and made progress on the running game.

BC should be a bigger success in Lincoln. he will be indirectly aided with a better defense if Bo/Carl have anything to say. Yet I do not see any stars other than marlon Lucky mentioned in the Big 12 selections. It will be a growth process, much like EIU.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
This thread is garbage. If you want to see what BC could have done at ISU see the Mizzou game from 06. He was allowed to run his kind of offense and we ran all over Mizzou. Mac basically brought Cotton in and forced him to run Loney's offense.
No matter what offense he was forced to run the line should be able to pass block and open holes for a RB. Yes Hicks didnt help matter any but when a hole is open for a split second and then it is stacked up you have oline problems.

He took an offensive line that consistently made holes for 1000-yard rushers and turned it to ****. I still can't believe the all-senior ISU offensive line in 2006 couldn't control the line of scrimage against UNI, UNLV, or Kent State...they couldn't move the ball at all on the ground until the emotional Mizzou game to end the season.
WOW! Talk about throwing crap out there with no idea of what you are talking about.
Barney had little to do with taking the rushing the Clones used to do out. The last 1,000 yard rusher was Hicks in 2004 - he squeaked in at 1,062 yards - Barney's first year.
Prior to that the last 1k rusher was Ennis in 2000 and 2001 with 1,237 and 1,169 respectively.
From 2001 to 2004 the rushing by the team really slid. It was not Barney's doing before he got here, it was Marty Fine.
Loney leaving after the 01 season left ISU with some pretty good talent and some guys who could play, Fine managed to slowly screw that up.
