For those in Texas going to the game, did you get your tickets through Baylor or through ISU or somewhere else?
I called yesterday and you still had to be CC or season ticket holder to get tickets through ISU. Section S is ISU's section, I ordered them through Baylor's website. (but it sounds like I could have saved money just getting them there :(
We are also contemplating the trip to Baylor. But, that's one hell of a road trip. Not sure it is worth it yet. Lubbock was friggin awesome once we got there, but the trip there and back sucked.
I talked to a guy from Baylor last time they were here, and he also mentioned that tailgating wasn't the greatest--said ISU was pretty cool. He said they do have a non-alcohol policy, but it isn't strictly enforced (alcohol is poured into a cup out of sight and no one asks questions). He also mentioned that he hates the Aggies.
Isn't there anywhere to tailgate where you don't have to hide your brews? I'm not 19 anymore.
I agree with jbhtexas. Frankly, I don't "get" the desire of so many "great fans" to get rip-roaring drunk before the game. Or the overwhelming desire to scream obscenities. I didn't get it when I was a student, and I don't get it, now.
Chances are those "great fans" aren't really "great fans"; they're just alcoholics.
To each his own. I enjoy having a few beers before a game. I doubt that Pollard would turn away donors just because they like to drink pregame. Honestly, ISU plays up that tailgating atmosphere and that is due to people showing up early and being crazy. What do you think that they're doing 6 hours before kickoff? Standing around?
Scalp tickets. There will be plenty available and more than likely plenty of seats available for you to sit anywhere. Personally I like the fact alcohol isn't that big of an issue at Baylor. I don't like taking my kids to most games at big state schools. Way too many drunken idiots.
