KU gets all the breaks
I don't know the specifics on this prep school, but it seems like the NCAA just rubber stamped this one because they are KU players. We had a guy go to an american high school and graduate and not get cleared.... www.kansascity.com | 09/04/2008 | Morris twins cleared to play at KU -
Re: KU gets all the breaks
What an absolute shocker...

Maybe Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur can take these young boys in and be strong role models for them....... Lifetime Achievement- In on page 1 of a THujone MS Paint thread. -

Everything would be fine and dandy except for that pesky shooting incident of which one of them was involved.

Re: KU gets all the breaks
I realize that Lucca got a raw deal, but saying that KU is getting some lucky break by getting eligibility for these guys is stupid. And it wasn't quite the "rubber stamp" process that you think. They were waiting several weeks to get eligible, although within the program everyone knew that once the NCAA got around to it, there wouldn't be a problem. Because of the hold-up, the kids couldn't play or practice for the team's recent Canada trip.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the NCAA ALWAYS will penalize an "ISU" to cover down for a school like "KU" (e.g. Southern Cal and Reggie Bush's skating the "agent" issue). But to be specific about basketball . . the NCAA and KU disgust me. What the NCAA did to Lucca and ISU was inexcusable. BTW KU is the constant beneficiary of coddling refs and shaddy recruiting.

Re: KU gets all the breaks
I live only a few miles from Pennsauken, NJ where these guys supposedly got their academics straightened out and I have never heard of Apex Academey.
Looking at their website, they make no bones about why they exist. Apex Academies -
Re: KU gets all the breaks
So Kansas has to wait weeks to get this looked at where Lucca had to wait unitl late Ocotber before he was told he couldn't play. That sounds pretty fair.
Also, so these guys weren't even going to classes yet? How were they living in the dorms? And also how do they get into classes this late?

"The NCAA is out to get ISU, and purposefully gives KU breaks."
Think about the absurdity of that for a minute.

Think about the absurdity of that for a minute. The only thing absurd is the favoritism shown toward KU basketball. The immense double standard exists whether you acknowledge it or not . . to wit: how the NCAA treated ISU and Lucca. Now tell me the last time the NCAA did that to Kansas???????????????????????

Think about the absurdity of that for a minute. BTW, I love the "push and shove" defense of Kansas basketball . . . and how your previous coach Roy Boy and KU fans cried like the babies they are . . . when Tinsely et al schooled big bad Kansas.

Think about the absurdity of that for a minute. You want to talk absurdity? The day KU has a dead ball three pointer count against them is the day i believe the above statement is false.
KU doesn't get the breaks? Do a quick search on Lester Earl. The NCAA will always bend over backwards for KU.
Also, what happened that Chalmers dad isn't with KU basketball anymore? Funny how his employment ending coincided with his son's turning pro huh? What, KU doesn't want to keep connections with that hotbed of basketball Alaska?
I could go all day with how dirty KU is. It's like Nebraska football, only with less shame.
