Nebraska on TV
So far this year, Nebraska has had 0 non-PPV games on TV.
We have had 2.
I find that somewhat interesting.
At the end of our non-conference schedules, we will have been on 3 times, and Nebraska once.
That being said, Nebraska has been available on TV every week, if you're willing to pay 30 bucks a game for PPV.
On another note, Big XII schools play this week on Wed (K-State @ Louisville), Thurs (WV @ Colorado), and Fri (Baylor @ Conneticut). Should be some interesting games. And the plus side, we only have to go 3 days without Big XII football!

Re: Nebraska on TV
Nebraska fans are idiots.
I'm not sure what is dumber: a)$40 to watch New Mexico St. open the season in Lincoln or b)$15 for a Spring Scrimmage.

I know that we've avoided them to keep from stepping on high school football games, but this is Baylor's second such game in two weeks?

Re: Nebraska on TV
This week is a road game, just like ISU @ Army in 2005 -- for the TV money.
Last week was moved up because of the hurricane.

Sept 12th was due to Ike though...

Re: Nebraska on TV
I bought the season opener PPV against Western Michigan, but was content to listen to the last 2 games.
I'll be the first to admit that following last year's disaster, Nebraska just isn't a "sexy" TV pick right now.

At the end of our non-conference schedules, we will have been on 3 times, and Nebraska once. We are also benefiting by playing 2 road games against teams in conferences with their own networks. If we were playing UNLV at the Jack this year, I'm pretty sure that game would not be on TV.

It's one of the perks of playing non-conference games on the road against reasonable opponents.
We also benefited by playing on Thursday to open the season. Take away the Thursday game, and the two road games and we would probably have been on TV maybe once (ISU-Iowa).

Re: Nebraska on TV
If you want something to compare our program to, try USC, as in South Carolina, which for some God-unknown reason has has all three of their games on national TV--and I don't mean the BTN, MTN, FCSN(?) or whatever squirrely little place you care to dredge it up from the corners of cable/satellite world.

ESPN is in love with Steve Spurrier. At first, I thought it was strange, too. But, really, we should not be surprised.

And the plus side, we only have to go 3 days without Big XII football! Another reason to dislike Steve Pederson (former Nebraska AD). He scheduled horrible non-conference opponents that make the games unattractive (especially when Nebraska is down) to national or regional media.
Osborne has already done much better in scheduling non-conference opponents. Adding a home & home with Miami and a 3 game series with Fresno State (2 in Lincoln, 1 in Fresno)
