I like the way Stoops handled it, saying it happens and no one is whining about it. You have to move on.

Sucks for the kid though and it did look like there was a plan to go after him. Very rarely do you see three Offensive Linemen blocking one.

Not really anything wrong with the blocking ... they knocked him down and fell on him, that's what linemen are supposed to do.

The article mentioned one of them may have punched at him as he was on the ground, I didn't see it, but I suppose that could be fined somehow.

Watch the video, two of the lineman were definitely punching him, especially the guy right on top of his face. Those guys NEED to be suspended. It was very clear they had planned it before the play.

Offensive and defensive linemen do a lot of arm swinging in a game. I think you'd have to prove it was malicious ... and the punching didn't cause an ankle injury anyway.

This wouldn't get any attention if the kid didn't hurt his ankle as well ... infact the talking heads would probably talk the o-line up "you gotta protect your teammates in a situation like this, yadayadayada"

It would have never happened if Granger woouldn't have taken a cheap shot on a Washington olineman the play before. As mentioned above they were around his waist to upper body when he was on the ground, it seems the olinemen didn't do anything wrong on how he got hurt.

I did see a "little" cheap shot in there but they didn't do anything to hurt his ankle. Probably should have been a 15 yard penalty for the shot to the gut.

I liked that the Huskies triple teamed him though on the next play.

Granger was already on the ground, then they started punching. If this seriously is common, then I am shocked.

The last guy off of him gives him a little shot with his right hand ... but were not taking anything big.

Line play does not get focused on very often ... but this particular play probably happens 50 times every weekend - it just doens't have a triple-team. But I bet a lot of guys that get double-teamed and pancaked look a lot like this.

I am not sure about today, but when I played line 18 years ago, everything that could did happen. The worst thing for me was the fingers to the eyes and the nut grab.

When someone falls down the linemen are supposed to get on top of him and make sure he isn't getting back up on that play. They were pretty rough with him but he was pretty rough with that lineman the play before. Both might be considered "cheap shots" but if you're going to give them out you're probably going to get some too. It does suck that he got hurt, though.

looks like to me the tackler led with the crown of his helmet and wasn't penalized.
