K-State's Prince at it again
The latest from the coach who was holding his Spring Practices this year from 8:30-10:30pm.... ESPN - KSU defense sent running after return from Louisville loss - Big 12
Does that smell like desperation to anyone else?
Yet another sign that K-State could be a total trainwreck by the time we play them.
I know we have our own problems, but the "odd" news continues to stream out of the Little Apple.

Argh... Mods, please move this to the Big XII forum.

Re: K-State's Prince at it again
One year at KState we were losing like 50ish to 0 at halftime and Skladany threatened to run the defense when we got back to Ames until he was sick of watching us run. He was dead serious to, fortunatley Coach Mac stepped in and stopped him.
In my opinion and experiences doing stuff like this doesn't motivate players it makes them question the coaching staff and give up.

Maybe the coaches should reconsider their 3-4 alignment if they don't have the players for it...

Things like this can't be good either:
Kansas State players were instructed not to talk about the punishment, but several players did anyway.
Makes me even happier than they gave Price a contract extension.

Wasn't it Prince who had the coaches running stairs last year as well?

I had a couple friends who played volleyball at Drake. Their coach had them running lines during a timeout.
Not sure how you could more embarrass a team. I woulda walked right out of they gym.

Apparently you haven't seen the movie "Miracle".

Re: K-State's Prince at it again
Sometimes this stuff works, depends on the type of team you haven. He might feel his D has no real motivation so far, yes, bad coaching from the start. None the less, sometimes coaches feel that they need to be the bad guy then, the guy that everyone can bond together and hate. And prove him wrong. Not so sure this works with today's mentality though. Then again, maybe he's just out of options.

One time during a 9th grade game, our basketball coach made us run a killer during warm ups for a game.

Shared pain and suffering is one good method at building teams if you know how to build them back up after tearing them down. Though it is usually a method I would use more prior to the actual season or event.

Re: K-State's Prince at it again
I made my son put his nose on a garbage can in a soccer game. He is 8. He was goofing off on the sidelines. He will no longer goof off on the sidelines.

Re: K-State's Prince at it again
A little off topic here, but if you read further down. TG rates ISU as the last place he would want to watch a Big 12 football game. Kind of surprised me.
