You know that kind of win would overflow into the off-season and the beginning of next season.
I'm not sure I can ever bring myself to root for Iowa again. Guess I'll see how I feel on Saturday.

Never. I'd rather see Penn State get in the title game than a Hawkeye fan happy.

Re: Texas Tech, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State
Get ready for Penn St. vs USC folks. These conferences do not have a championship game for a reason.
Only chance to avoid that is if Tech or Bama win out and that will be a tall task as I don't see Penn St. or USC losing the rest of the way.

Their defense has failed to impress this year like they did last year.

Can't wait for Basketball season! I really like Kansas and Texas this year . . don't you? Wow. The only thing worse than seeing ISU get hammered this year would be talking about how good ISU is performing in the Missouri Valley. If that were true, no matter how GOOD the Cyclones were, we would NEVER be able to watch them again on TV. I'll take 7 crappy Cyclone performances on TV in the Big 12 if that's what it takes to see one good performance.
I also feel some sense of pride in how good the Big 12 is this year and I don't see anything wrong with that. If nothing else, it should help Gene bring in some talented players from all over the country. Just look at how bad OSU was just three years ago. All it takes is a couple good recruiting classes to turn things around. Who would have known that Zac Robinson, Todd Reesling and Chase Daniel (each three star QBs out of high school) would become among the best in the nation? All of the teams not named OU and Texas are going to throw their names back in a hat in 2009/2010 after their QBs graduate. I really think ISU is a great QB and/or a standout WR away from moving back to the top of the Big 12 North. A great QB inspires the rest of the team.... sort of the way AA inspired the team in the second half against UNLV and the first half against KU.

There is a reason that the Big10/11 and Pac Ten aren't adding teams. As much as I dislike watching OSU/PSU ect. slide into the title game, the conference is smart for doing it that way. It could be possible that the big 12 will have as many as five teams that are better than OSU but OSU will get into the BCS over four of them due to PSU getting to the title game.
There were also some who opposed a Big 12 championship game for this very reason.
In the end, I'm wondering if the championship game has been a net profit or net loss for the Big 12.

Perhaps we should lobby to have the conference title game removed from the schedule?
It is a good question as to whether the money grab from the championship game is greater than a potential money grab from sliding into BCS games.

I agree, however, and don't really like the large conferences with a title game.

The south is unbelievable. 4 teams that deserve BCS bowls. Unreal.
