MCarney to KSU?

Wow, what a turn of events that would be. But no, it couldn't.

Doesn't he already have a 4 year degree?

D Mac has gone through 2 seasons in the south, where the weather's warm, girls are pretty, and the talent is everywhere. Not sure he would even be interested in K-State.

It'd give him a chance to play us every year. I have the feeling he's a bit bitter towards ISU, but that's just my gut feel....

If it's KSU vs no coaching job, with the ego he has, I'd be surprised if he turned down KSU

I don't see him ever leaving the state of Florida. He loves it there...

I'd say he's probably bitter toward the administration but the guy made a lot of money and had a lot of fans behind him all the way through the end.

Bitter? Maybe slightly, but he knows that's the nature of the beast. He had a good run and was given every opportunity here, I don't think he has much to be bitter about. Especially the amount of bitterness it would take to become a head coach at a school just for the fact that you could play your old school every year.

I heard there's a spot open at Tennessee too! They might battle for him.

Once you're a head coach, anything less is not as satisfying. No matter where you are.
He wanted the Northern Illinois job, remember. He wants to be a head coach again. I would too.

I say no. KState is not interested in a rebuilding coach. They want a Snyder caliber coach and they want it now. Let's face it, McCarney was never able to do that well at Iowa State with better facilities and a better all time team record. Kstate will go after some FCS head coach or try for some hot shot coordinator (which they won't get and will end up with a FCS head coach).
