I thought about him as I sit here and watch the Tenn v Kansas game. Didn't he pick Kansas because he wanted playing time?

I was trying to figure out where he would fit in our rotation, what do you all think?

Don't know, not sure how good he is because he doesn't play much for Kansas. If we had gotten him, we would be without someone as he would have taken a schollie. I am doubting we land Colvin if we had gotten him and I would rather have a top 100 freshman than a juco.

Actually, I bet if we had gotten him we would've redshirted Wes and he would've gotten his minutes (how ever few they have been recently).

Yeah, you might be right. Buckley probably would've been the better one to redshirt, but it seems to me that Buckley is going to contribute more to the team as he is catching on faster than Wes. Wes started really strong but has looked a bit lost in resent games.

Either way, someone would've redshirted, that I certain of.

I am also fairly certain that we are better off with Buckley, Colvin, and/or Wes than Appleton. If he can't crack into Kansas's line up (even as a backup) with them having a very freshman heavy team, I doubt he would do much more than 10 minutes a game here.

Hope he's happy riding the pine. Not saying that I want him here, but its just interesting how many guys opt for the big name programs rather than playing time at programs like ours where they could get noticed.

They usually confident enough in their skills to think they will get minutes. To that end, some guys want a chance at a conference championship/NCAA tourney.

Even if they don't even sniff the floor during that "chance"?

My guess is guys want to play more than they want to ride the bench of a contender.

That was going to be my question as well.

I understand that most of these guys think they can beat ANYONE out for a starting position and/or playing time. But sometimes I wonder if they need to take a step back and ask themselves what is best for them in the long run to get playing time and make an impact on whatever program they choose to go to.
