What do you think they say when they see us fire the winningest football coach we've ever had only to go from 4 to 3 to 2 wins per year. Then fire a winning (and NCAA tournament) basketball coach only to become the worst team in the Big XII in not one, but both major revenue sports?
From the outside looking in, it may appear that the wheels have come off the athletic department at KSU. But outsiders looking in at ISU see the same thing.
Until our teams prove otherwise....I would agree that our AD from the outside looking in looks terribly run.
Wefald has had some great deans during his tenure at KSU. The academic and fund raising efforts are purring like a kitten. For example, KSU has the highest % of alumni donating on a yearly basis of the Big 12 schools. Sure many are like me and do not donate a lot but it adds up. By the way, I also donated to the ISU library fund. My two children are ISU grads. Wefald has grown emotional and a bit senile with age. He loves sports and has had entirely too much time on his hands.
I thought it was pretty funny to see Wefald hugging Mike Beasley after the KSU-KU game last year. I just don't think you'd see Geoffrey hugging Brackins after a big win or Bob Hemingway hugging Sherron Collins.
KUCYCLONE--Thanks for your comments. I almost dumped my coffee all over the keyboard from laughing so hard. Geoffrey or Hemingway hugging a sweat drenched athlete is not likely to happen in any of our lifetimes.
Well gee, we have discipline now, but very few wins to go with it. I'd rather have an undisciplined program with some wins than discipline and no wins. WM could get true athletes to come to this program. We haven't seen much of that lately.
