K-State looses (another) AD
I see K-States AD took another positon inside the university. Kansas State athletic director Bob Krause resigns - ESPN
That's 2 in 2 years. Any thoughts on what is going on down there? I think things at that school could go south in a big hurry. IMHO Frank Martin is a low life and if the Snyder Experiment V2 does not work it could get ugly.

Re: K-State looses (another) AD
That has to be one of the worst-run athletic departments in the country over the past 5 years or so.
And wtf is "looses"?

Have you seen or win/loss record in football and basketball? The fact that we fired Wayne Morgan because of a minor scandel. The fact that we fired our most succesfull football coach ever.
The fact that they guy who replaced him left the school after losing 10 straigh games and only winning 5 games in 2 years.
The fact that our basketball program has won on the road 4 times with our current coach who is going on year 3.
I wonder what they are saying about our athletic department.

Re: K-State looses (another) AD
Possibly related to the fact they're in the middle of the search for the new president? IIRC, the current guy was an internal KSU appointment, had administrative experience but not necessarily a background in collegiate athletics. Could be wrong about that though. Wouldn't surprise me if he was seen as a short term hire from the beginning. Makes me wonder if Snyder is the same kind of deal - short term until new adminstration is completely in place?

I wonder what they are saying about our athletic department. Unfortunately, I agree with this statement until I see results.

I wonder what they are saying about our athletic department. For the 1,000,000,000th time...Morgan was not fired because of the D1 Scheduling article by Gregg Doyel...if that's the "minor scandel" you are referring to...

Well that is pretty much the excuse that was used. I understand what you are saying. However it's starting to look bad because the guy that replaced him has done a ton worse and he still is collecting a check.

Re: K-State looses (another) AD
K-State sold their soul to win hiring Huggins...he's a good coach...but the graduation rates and caliber of person he was bringing into Cincinnati was just atrocious..that's why Cincy let him go...K-State hired him knowing what they were getting, and when he split...instead of hiring a qualified coach, and doing a real coaching search...they hired an assistant with a very underwhelming resume just to keep Beasley, Walker, and Pullen...
Say what you want about McDermott and Pollard...but to compare them to K-State is a little unfair imo...at least they're trying to do it the right way...rip Mac for players leaving that he recruited if you want, or not going the juco route...but don't compare our athletic department to Kansas State's...

Huskerman, you should talk. The ultimate idiot--Harvey Perleman. Would you care to tell the ISU fans about this genius?

Re: K-State looses (another) AD
OK, things are not all roses in Manhattan. Because so few here are willing to do any research, I will tell you what is going on. John Wefald, university president, has been trying to micro manage the athletic department the last 5 years. Tim Weiser, former AD, quit because he was not allowed to do his job without interference. Wefald considered himself to be the ultimate guru when it came to hiring coaches. He had lucked out and hired Bill Snyder many years ago. He also hired Jim Wooldridge and Ron Prince just to prove that he should stay away from the athletic department. Wefald is finally retiring. He did a good job most of his years but has certainly slipped more and more the last few years. Can you imagine Geoffrey micromanaging the athletic department at ISU.
The AD that just left was a temporary position filler. No doubt the new president will want his own AD. I expect there will be more turnover in the next two years and things will return to normalcy.
CyBobby, why would you designate KU to do the butt kicking?

Re: K-State looses (another) AD
Trigger, you have your thoughts in order. I do not expect Bill Snyder to be a one or two year coach however unless he finds no support from the new president or AD. If Bill's team is not making progress year to year, he will ride off into the sunset on his own accord.
I do not think the average KSU fan spends any time thinking about the ISU athletic department. ISU has no real enemies except for Iowa. There is no hate for ISU within the Big 12. The Clones are most peoples second favorite team, including mine.
