    UNL's QB to transfer

Nebraska's heir apparent to the starting QB job next fall is transferring. Let the media spin machine begin.

    Omaha.com Big Red Section

This was the kid who was 2nd string all last fall, and the one who went into the bowl game when Ganz got hurt. I am sure there would have been competition for the job, but he would have started spring practice as the #1 option, as Ganz has graduated.

Maybe Nakdumong Suh can take snaps next fall.

Strike up the new freshman from Texas is so good that losing Witt is no big deal propaganda machine. I think we have heard this song before....

The order is restored, and we will win the national championship because we have 1)______ at QB coming in and he is so good that 2)_________ had to transfer/quit/leave.

    a.) Joe Daly
    b.) Harrison Beck
    c.) Sam Keller
    d.) Patrick Witt
    e.) Kody Spano
    f.) All of the above.
    g) Tommy Frazier walks on water.

Bonus question. Who is the only Big 8 team to beat Nebraska in a game Tommy Frazier started?

here is some interesting info i just found on the espn big 12 blog...

Nebraska linebackers coach Mike Ekeler is in the mix for the vacant defensive coordinator position at South Florida after interviewing with USF coach Jim Leavitt last week.

I'm excited to hear the local sports radio this week. They will spin this into the ground. The talk radio here in Omaha is so much better than Des Moines...the only problem is the subject matter.

Hopefully there is a huge melt down this week. Those are much more fun to listen to than the usual Husker crap.

I'm thinking it won't be much meltdown, it'll be more "He sucked anyway" talk. They have a funny way of seeing things differently than reality suggests.

I think most Husker fans have all of their hopes resting on Cody Green. They are really pumped about him. So they will spin it to where Patrick Witt really didn't matter. So this could mean they are running with a true freshman QB next year. Him or Lee, who has really fallen under expectations.

So basically what he is saying is that he would rather sit out a year than play for Nebraska. Makes sent to me. I'd say the are some internal issues or the incoming freshmen must be pretty special.

Wow, this kid must think he's pretty special, or that he's entitled to be the starter wherever he goes. 4 high schools in 4 years, and now leaving his first college. He must have U-Haul's number on speed dial.

Must be a Nebraska thing. I wonder if his dad called SuperBo and broke the news for him?

    Re: UNL's QB to transfer

Would be curious as to why Witt would decide to leave prior to spring practice, he was far from being a sure thing with regard to being Nebraska's starting QB next year though. The offense that Nebraska was running from about mid-season on was significantly different than the old Callahan offense that Witt was recruited to, much more of a spread type with QB being used as a runner at times.

Texas HS football is another world. I knew a kid who played QB at a very small Texas high school. Sam was good but he where near Div 1 talent. He dad went to Louisiana, and found a single mother who had 3 big strapping sons who all played linemen. Sam's dad paid to move her family and found her a job so his son would have a better line to play behind. True Story !!

I might have to rethink the ISU/Nebraska game. Not having Ganz was going to hurt NU, now this might put the nail in the coffin on offense.
