How hard is it to recruit to U of Texas?????

Has anyone seen that Texas already has 19 football commitments for the class of 2010....

Its completely crazy not one from outside the states border......It must be nice to simply give someone an offer and they commit right then and there....

Alot of those guys are asking to be recruited, they don't even have to do any work, just sort out the ones who are worthy of an offer.

That's a pretty bad class though. They don't even have any stars!!! They wouldn't even be able to walk on at ISU

I know they haven't been rated yet and that's why

This. Most of the talented kids in this state grow up wanting to be Longhorns anyway. Rarely does Mack Brown or his staff have to go outside the state looking for talent. Texas recruiting is a machine that virtually powers itself.

Besides, if you have visited Austin and the UT campus, you know that it is gorgeous... in many ways...

Just imagine all the money they save by not having to go out of the state to recruit. Also, Austin is the best town in the big 12.

There are 1o to 15 programs in the nation where stars matter. texas is one of those. For the rest, it comes down to identifying talent and developing it. Coaches from Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Florida, etc, should never win coach of the year.

It's fairly standard that that word is filtered on message boards, due to malicious codes (s_cripts) that hackers can run.

Don't agree. At all those schools, when the wrong coach is hired, the big winning stops. So coaching does trump tradition. No program can go into auto-pilot...
