Hiring and firing in Big12
Any thoughts on MBB coaches in the Big 12 getting fired or leaving for other reasons and possible hirings (I know a lot harder without knowing the openings).
Notice this is not an ISU thread so I'm not really commenting on GMac. I'd be impressed if people could leave him out of this since its been debated elsewhere enough.
Re: Hiring and firing in Big12
Mike Anderson should get out of Missouri if he wants a better job while his stock is high.
Knight down at Texas Tech has gotta be feeling a little heat.
Scott Drew probably has next season to get into the tourney again or he's in trouble with how bad his team underachieved this season.
Re: Hiring and firing in Big12
I've seen Travis Ford as a rumored replacement for Billy Gillispie at UK, if the rumors about him being out come true.
Re: Hiring and firing in Big12
Capel, next coach at Kentucky.

That'd be an excellent fit IMO.

OK here we go
Ford to UK
Self to OSU
Turgeon to KU
Gillispie back to TAMU.
I know the Aggies won't have BCG back, but it's fun to speculate.

The KU fan base would self destruct if Self left and they hired Turgeon...
and it'd be great!!
Re: Hiring and firing in Big12
Mike Anderson back to Arkansas?

Self didn't go last year. Why would this year be any different? I know you're just speculating but it won't happen. KU is way better of a program than OSU.

Personally I think he stays at KU as well, but we'll see how seriously committed to KU when OSU begins throwing booku dollars at him and whether KU is willing to match.

Some rumors I've heard from CBSSports, etc.. is that Ford might go to UK, Capel to Virginia (IMO, that might be a step down) and Alabama wants either Anderson or Anthony Grant.
Re: Hiring and firing in Big12
I m hearing Anderson to Alabama.
Re: Hiring and firing in Big12
I heard that Alabama wanted Tubby Smith. Ben Jacobson could then go to Minnesota. Greg McDermott could go back to UNI. We can then hire someone like Dayton Coach Brian Gregory.

Ford going home. Makes sense.
Isn't Capel from Virginia? Going home too. While their program might not be on par with Ok now, I think on a historical perspective it would be lateral move at worst and he is an ACC guy. Debate ACC vs. Big XII.
Now the Missouri to Alabama job in my opinion is a step down. . Debate SEC vs. Big XII.
Heard on the radio today the Anderson is being mentioned for a few jobs. Interesting timing - leaking your name for multiple jobs just 2 days before the sweet 16.

Mmmm...can you imagine the implosion if we have another mid major coach?
