Who do you root for?

When a Big 12 rival plays someone out of conference, who do you root for?

Regardless of which school is playing in whatever sport, I always root for the Big 12 team. I just feel like they represent our conference and ISU, and I want that to be a positive representation. Even if it is Kansas in basketball or Oklahoma/Nebraska in football.

Really just depends. I frickin hate Texas A&M. But I'll pull for Okie State most of the time.

Always cheer for the Big 12. IMO, anything that makes the conference look good is only positive for us.

I usually always root for the Big XII. I picked every team from the Big XII in the tournement to win their first game.

I usually root for the Big 12. Although since I'm from ND, and my Dad was an NDSU grad, I was pulling for NDSU over KU last weekend...

I root for 10 BigXII teams- all but Nebraska and Kansas, either sport.

i will cheer for 118 teams (football) before i cheer for nebraska. well more than that because i would cheer for 1aa, div 2 and 3, you name it. i cheer for nebraska to cancel all sports and implode all buildings on campus, including but not limited to memorial stadium.

Your hatred is misplaced...it should be directed towards the Hawks...

I don't cheer for the Big 12 outside of ISU other than Okie State. I've gotten into some bad confrontations with all of the other types of fans in the Big 12. Generally though, I don't like to see fans from our conference rivals all excited for their teams...

I will usually cheer for Texas, Kansas, and Missouri when not playing Iowa State.

i cheer for mizzou and okie state. the rest are iffy, unless they are playing an SEC team.

To be honest, the only team I never cared for was Oklahoma when Kelvin Sampson was cheating and whining to the refs. Other than that, I root for the Big12 when they aren't playing ISU. I tend to root for Baylor after all the nonsense they went thru when Dave Bliss was in charge. I also respect Oklahoma State and Nebraska in the days when Danny Nee was there! His teams were fun to watch. And I think Bill Self is an excellent coach.

Why? Conference games mean so much more than the in-state rivalry games. I could give a rat's *** what iowa does. I rarely see more than a one or two of their games a year in each sport (including the game we play). We recruit against and play more frequently against Big XII teams, particularly Big XII north teams. Every win for them basically negates a win for us, when it comes to recruiting.

In extreme situations, I can cheer for conference teams. But, they have to be playing a team I really hate. But, I can't and will never cheer for ku in basketball, or nu in football. And I can't see how anybody ever could, if you've ever met any of the fans of either sport...

It is kinda a win-lose situation IMO. We win because recruits want to play in a competitive conference. We lose because the best recruits go to the most competitive schools in the conference.
