I’m not even saying Tebow can, but Harrell definitely can’t.
Also past Florida QB’s who were system guys with weak arms also didn’t fare well at least as far as being highly drafted.

There is NO way that Tim Tebow is an NFL quarterback. I don't care how fast or athletic you are, you quickly learn that the guys on the other side of the ball and very very fast and very very athletic as well. It doesn't hurt to be mobile in the NFL, but it doesn't help nearly as much as it does in college. If anything has been proven in the NFL over the past 25 years or so, it's that you need to be a passing QB first and foremost. Running can help you rarely, and it can help you make sportscenter, but it's not going to win you many games alone.

Tim Tebow is a tough runner, but IMO he looks really friggin slow on tv. Am I the only one that thinks that?

Crabtree is undoubtedly a stud and I can't see how any WR predeceased him in the draft. But to say he has done "more" than a young coach that has proven to be decent at least, plus one already making millions in the NFL is premature at best.
Furthermore the NFL has most assuredly had a spotty draft record with highly dubbed QB's. But you know what hasn't been spotty .............system QB's with weak arms especially coming out of TT! The NFL has tried a ton of these type QB's much to no avail.
I like how he defends his players but honestly he comes off as boorish and "sour" as much as anything.

Speaking of a team that puts out weak QBs.......Wow your team takes the cake! Freerents' under-the-table money to the pro-scouts doesn't even convince them to take his QBs......
Can't wait to see your QB in Ames this Fall - how many passes do you think he'll throw to the Cyclone D this time??
Re: Mike Leach Shares His Opinion of the Draft
The funny thing is that Leach rips the Browns for Crabtree, but they are the team that is giving Harell a chance.

Nice try......................What did he throw last year...............1, I honestly don't remember? Besides your only agenda appears to be trying to goad Iowa fans. Honestly a guy that’s 87 years old ought to know better I'd think. I had thought you actually believed that stuff but being your just tossing barbs out to me in a totally different thread I now assume your just rattling chains.
Under-the-table money to the pro scouts?????? what the heck does that even mean. He pays scouts to let his kids play in the NFL??? That's not even cute, let alone witty!
I can only assume you are 1 of 3 things.................ornery as all get out and determined to screw with Iowa fans. Completely delusional and have no real basis for you outlandish rants and many of your ISU brethren seem to agree or just bored out of your skull and wanting attention? I’m not seriously wanting to offend you I’m just truly curious where you coming from. I believe everyone deserves a certain level of respect, but I can’t gauge your direction here.

You called me out in one of your posts - just returning serve. I don't like the disrespect shown to our team by Hawk fans and I'm just showing a voice of reason here. For you to say my posts are outlandish shows an arrogance on your part.
As far as your QB - wasn't he shown the bench after confused pass after confused pass? Only 1 int? Our D was still fast enough to create a lot of havoc and confusion, despite the flood.
Re: Mike Leach Shares His Opinion of the Draft
I must read anything that says "Mike Leach shares his opinion," because Mike leach is the man.

Good sir,
As a general rule the Iowa fans over here are pretty respectful of ISU and most are on record they are not taking next years game lightly.
2nd, someone of your age and stature should know that to get respect you have to give it and many of your own fans don't agree with your position on "speed" and Iowa’s subsequent talent. So who is looking down their nose at another again?
3rd calling someone arrogant is a judgment. In order to judge you 1st have to place yourself in a position superior to another, ultimately displaying a certain amount of arrogance yourself.
4th and now here we are full circle..................
Now for the record I am aware I am now approaching a certain level of disdain, bordering on pompousness. I do apologize, but when someone takes this course I often find myself twisting the worm so-to-speak and pointing out the errors in their logic.

Actually I do agree. To be fair I think he is actually pretty fast all things considered, but he runs in such a fashion that he does not look fast and in fact it looks almost laborious.

I agree that he didn't fall all that far. Not exactly sure why Leach was so mad at Cleveland. IMO the dumb one was Al Davis and the Raiders. That guy is an idiot. Someone runs a 4.3 at the combine and he picks him over Crabtree who could well be a Jerry Rice type WR. And the Raiders 2nd round pick was an even bigger head-scratcher. No wonder they suck every year. Davis is in love with speed and measurables. Oakland will never be good again until Davis lets go of personnel decisions.
Some people think that Crabtree is a system guy. But he was breaking records in that system as a FRESHMAN. The guy's a freak and I'm betting will at least have a career similar to Torre Holt or Larry Fitzgerald...if the 49ers get a QB sometime. As a Rams fan, I'm ****** they got him.

Actually he was ****** at the Browns. They came out and made comments on Crabtrees attitude. The Browns needed a reciever so it would have made sense to take him there but they traded out of that pick. Be interesting to see if the qb ends up going to Cleveland to see if he can get signed or not after these coments. I really like the comment bout Stephen McGee the A&M qb:biggrin:

That is a funny statemtent to me. I can see how you can be dubbed a 'system QB' like Harell and Daniel, who have inflated stats due to the type of system that you run, but I can't see how you can can be called a 'system receiver.'
Bottom line is if you can catch and run, you are going to be successful as a receiver, no matter what system you are in.

I most assuredly concur with this. I think one of the talking heads even said something to that affect................."Spread Wr's work, spread running backs work and spread TE's work, but not so much spread QB's" Especially with weak arms................
Now the only caveat to the WR thing is blocking and reading Defense’s and what not. In the spread you are often running to a spot or a Zone where as in the NFL they'll have a pattern, but then they'll have to have hot reads, and need to settle into a "hole" or so-to-speak. They'll also be asked to block more and I think Crabtree has alluded to his focus on that already. Really a lot of the same but different so they typically do adjust.
All the same he'd have been the 1st guy I took for sure and Maclin would have been 2nd.

Re: Mike Leach Shares His Opinion of the Draft
I think they called him a system WR, because he only ran a few patterns in that system. I think they would have liked to see him run more patterns down field and in the middle of the field. He did a lot of slants and bubble screens at TT and that is why they have some questions.
