Heh, Matt's always been ****** about OU's noncon scheduling.

Texas Tech and Texas have always had the worst Big 12 scheduling, aside from the Texas/Ohio State series. Seems like they always play some Sun Belt/CUSA/1-AA school from in-state -- multiple times.

And both of those could be halftime scores. They're going to be playing teams that might have one or two guys that could be scout teamers for these schools.

That's what happens when they went to a 12 game schedule and allowed 1AA wins to count toward the 6 wins needed to go to bowl games.

I wonder though, does a 1-AA team benefit from the $ and game speed? Do they get "better" by playing a team that will punch them in the mouth at the beginning of the season? I'm relatively serious, if all you do is play cupcakes, doesn't playing some of the upper echelon make you realize what you need to work on?

I gotta say… that would should not even be on the list. 1) Iowa State is not a very good football team. I’m not saying that to bash them or anything, but they haven’t won much lately. 2) NDSU just came out of 5 years of transition of D-2 to D-1AA where we beat 3 of the 4 D-1A teams we played. They may not be elite programs, but we beat Central Michigan at their place by 30, sneaked out our first one against Ball State, and beat Minnesota 1 of the 2 times we played them (side note we should have one the first one). I’d have to say that Iowa State is right on par with those teams. I’m not saying we will win for sure, but it definately will NOT be embarassing. We have the core of our team coming back… our only question is at the QB spot. Yes we slipped a little last year due to sloppy play, but that season was on the heals of back to back 10-1 seasons.

Who knows if they will still be the Sioux by game time though. Which disappoints me from growing up and still being a Sioux fan too!

Well one thing that does help is that if you are a team that could make the playoffs and you play a D1 school as a 1AA team if you win or are competitive you get a very positive look from the selection comittee

I would be surprised if it was close. SD St. beat NDS last year at NDS. We did not really have trouble with SD St.

I still see us winning this one by at least 2-3 scores, which is still way too close for that kind of a team.
