The Alamo Bowl just got more important
Per ESPN:
The Pac-10 has just signed a 4-year deal to send the #2 Pac-10 team to the Alamo Bowl, replacing the #4/5 Big 10 team. This means the Pac-10 will send 2 opponents to face the Big XII, the #2 to the Alamo and the #3 to the Holiday.

Re: The Alamo Bowl just got more important
I saw that.
I wonder if there is serious discussion of the Cotton Bowl becoming a BCS bowl then?
If not then it'd be something like
#2 Big XII - Cotton
#3 Big XII - Alamo
#4 Big XII - Holiday
And I had also read that the Big 11 was trying to negotiate it's way into the Holiday Bowl

How on earth are the hawks supposed to go to a bowl when they're 6 - 6 now?!?!

Re: The Alamo Bowl just got more important
I think the whole Holiday bowl thing was more a wish than anything and from what I understand they wanted an agreement like the Big 12 had with the Gator where they had another bowl 2 of the 4 years for that slot but im not sure on that

Re: The Alamo Bowl just got more important
"New Years Day Bowl" hasn't had the same meaning for some time now. I'd take it though. "Missouri is free to create an enduring basketball rivalry with Auburn." -
Re: The Alamo Bowl just got more important
Cotton Bowl will be a BCS bowl in 5 years. Especially, now that its played in new Cowboy's Stadium.

This is Good.
Big 12 = More exposure in Texas.
Big 10 = Less exposure in Texas.

Now if only the Rose Bowl would dump the Big 10, that game would be watchable again.

The only bad part was when USC let off the gas in the 2nd half and allowed PSU to bring it to 14. My point was still made.

Re: The Alamo Bowl just got more important
That game is traditon. I wish they would go to having the Big 12 play the ACC in the Orange bowl every year and having the Big east play in the Fiesta and SEC in the Sugar
