Kansas State coach Bill Snyder receives five-year contract extension - ESPN

I like this move a lot since we play them every year!

That is flipping crazy, going to turn 70, but then again Bobby and JoePa are the legends at there schools as Synder is and will always be to KSU.

Well look at it from K-States perspective. He's the only guy who's ever done anything good down there.

If Earl Bruce or Johnny Majors had come back to Ames, you can bet we would have tried something similar.

i actually think its a smart idea.. gives kst proper time to find a good replacement and possible hire them as an assistant.. or they might already have one in mind.. but this way u are not mixing classes with others and systems like what happened to us.. even though now its working out
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Didn't the AD just catch some heat for their last contract extention and FB coach?

Yeah but, they love they love 'ol J.R. Synder in Manhattan. I would suspect they will name some one the staff the "head coach in waiting" ala Florida State and Texas.

Re: K-State gives Bill Snyder 5 year extension

I just watched the Bill Snyder Show on Fox Midwest - good god, he looks and talks like he's 85. You can hardly hear him.
I am one who holds Snyder in awe for what he accomplished at K-State, but in 2009, I don't see how he can do it anymore...
