I recall reading somewhere that Nebraska has never won a men's NCAA tournament basketball game, not that they have had many chances. Not much of a basketball tradition there.
There are two (major) programs that have never won a MBB NCAA game: Nebraska and Northwestern. Northwestern is actually worse because they have never even been in an NCAA tourney game, ever.
Danny Nee was the "Dan McCarney" of Nebraska basketball. He actually got them a 3-seed in the NCAAs once, not a bad achievement. Then, they fired him over an incident in which he tried to pick-and-choose which games an injury-prone player would play in prior to getting a medical redshirt. His replacement, Barry Colier, practically destroyed the program. Nebraska is desperately trying to get back to where they were when they fired Nee.
I like those Iowa State Center-style walkways that look 9 miles long. I'm sure those wouldn't be covered with ice during the winter. Nice long, treacherous walk, just to see the Huskers obliterated by Kansas.
