Who gets left out?
Right now there are 10 Big 12 teams with 5 or more wins. In the South, Texas, OSU and Tech are all eligible. Oklahoma will become eligible soon and A&M will undoubtedly become eligible with Colorado and Baylor left.
In the North, no one is eligible yet. KSU has a tough schedule to get two more wins, but ISU, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri all have a good shot at 6 or more wins. If we have 9 or more teams eligible at the end of the season (which seems likely), who will get left out since there are only 8 spots for the Big12 and the Big 12 has never had more than 8 bowls.

Don't ask questions that you don't want the to hear the answer to.

Re: Who gets left out?
I've seen predictions that have a Big 12 team (most likely from the North) going to the New Mexico or GMAC Bowls due to the MWC and ACC not having enough eligible teams to fill their slots. Or something along those lines, can't 100% remember which conferences.

Re: Who gets left out?
How many times have eligible Big 12 teams not gone bowling? I can't remember any, but I know it happens. Iowa didn't go one year right?
Anywhoo, I can't see ISU getting left out - perhaps we won't go to a bowl with a Big 12 tie-in, but another bowl would want our nice story-line and solid traveling fan-base

Re: Who gets left out?
I think the year Iowa didn't go was because they were 6-5 heading into their last game (@ home I believe) and choked against Western Michigan.
Don't forget that Kansas State has to finish at least 7-5 to be eligible because 2 of their games were against D-1AA schools and only one of those wins counts per year. I agree that our story line and traveing fans will attract bowl committees if we're 6-6.

Re: Who gets left out?
I have a bad feeling about going 6-6... why don't we just go ahead and win 7?

Re: Who gets left out?
Texas goes to the national championship game, then we have 9 spots, right?

No because no other Big 12 team will get selected as an at-large for the BCS.If Texas were to get beat in the Big 12 title game then most likly the Big 12 would get 2 teams into the BCS otherwise the Big 12 will have only 8 bowl slots

One thing I think ISU will have to it's advantage in getting a bowl game is that we haven't been in a while so we will likely have better attendance than some other schools.

Quit counting chickens. The egg hasn't hatched yet.

Re: Who gets left out?
KSU has to go 7-5 for this scenerio to work. I think we get into a bowl, especially if the powers to be like us against Auburn and it works out. i think the combination of a new coach, a revived feel to the program and the fact that we haven't been to a bowl in awhile will get us there.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -

If KSU doesn't make it that still give the Big 12 9 teams and only 8 bowls providing the other 4 north teams get 6 wins.
