Projected BIG XII rankings, comments?
I tried to come up with 2 scenarios. One is somewhat realistic and the other is somewhat optimistic where I hope that we don't lose another game on a FG situation to Missouri. I ranked these teams in big XII and cannot come up with Iowa State going to Insight bowl which takes #6 from. Comments?
EDIT: I just realized how we get bumped to #6 spot since KState is a non factor at that point. Never mind, but the spreadsheet is worth a look.

If K-State loses to kNowledge they are 6-6 and thus not bowl eligible
And in situation 2 if Okie State goes to a BCS game you have something like
Neb - Cotton Bowl
OU - Holiday
Tech - Alamo
ISU - Sun
aTm - Insight
Kansas - Independence

Basically, here is what we have to cheer for (I may have to be drunk to do this because it will hurt otherwise)...
We need Nebraska to beat K-state, Okie State to win out (the OU-OSU game will be entertaining)
If this happens then we sit really good in my opinion
And most importantly We NEED TO BEAT THOSE STUPID SHOW-ME-STATE Tigers!!!!

aTm would travel well to either location, although the Independence bowl knows ISU fans will travel well there based on recent history

I expect us to go to the Texas Bowl (and probably get ran over by Navy), unless we beat Mizz and KSU loses to NU, then I can see us going to the Independence.
Either way, I think TAMU will get selected above us.
Hopefully I am wrong, the Insight Bowl is a much better location than Independece. (for my understatement of the year...)

The only thing that sucks about the Insight is its only on the NFL network. Most the country won't even know it happened.
The Indy bowl isn't as good, but at least its on ESPN and hopefully against SC, Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee etc....
I don't really care which one.

Why would a college bowl only be played on the NFL Network? Who makes these calls?

Whoever pays the most money gets to show the bowl game. The NFL Network has been showing at least one bowl game for probably two years now.

Wouldn't you rather have a bowl game be on Fox channel that you can see with basic cable as opposed to ESPN where you need beyond basic cable? Either way I am happy we are going bowling..

I'm not really sure where you're going with this? Most everyone who is a sports fan has more than just basic tv, but not that many people(that I know of) have NFL Net.

I think if we lose to Missouri, we go to the Independence (assuming Nebraksa beats KSU). Shreveport loves Iowa State fans and the Texas Bowl would love to have A&M. There is even a chance ISU goes to the Insight with a loss against Missouri if OSU wins out.
I think ISU ends up in the Insight if we beat Missouri, with a chance at the Sun Bowl if OSU wins out.

This may be best for fans, but wouldn't we want to go to a Texas bowl for recruiting purposes?
