OSU is headed to the Cotton Bowl. As far as we're concerned though, we only have to hope they win in norman. After that, if texas gets upset, that still means 2 big 12 bcs slots, so we get what we want either way there.

With the Big XII North champion going to the Fiesta, Texas would get the at-large bid, giving us something like...
Fiesta - Nebraska/KSU
BCS at-large - Texas
Cotton - Oklahoma State
Holiday - Oklahoma/Nebraska
Alamo - Texas Tech/Oklahoma/Mizzou/ISU
Sun - Texas Tech/Mizzou/ISU
Insight - Mizzou/ISU/A&M
Independence - A&M/Kansas?
Texas - A&M/Kansas?
If Texas wins out and OSU loses in Norman or gets snubbed by the BCS...
NC Game - Texas
Cotton - Oklahoma State
Holiday - Nebraska
Alamo - Oklahoma
Sun - Texas Tech
Insight - Mizzou/ISU
Independence - ISU/Mizzou
Texas - A&M
We really, REALLY need the Huskers to win on Saturday. Baylor and Texas could do us some favors this weekend, as well.

Re: Colorado vs. Okie State
Hopefully tonights game wont sway any BCS bowl committies not to pick OSU because it didn't look good on their part. They were using a 3rf string QB though. Hopefully they can pull it out in Norman but that is quite the tall task.

What the **** happened here? Hawkins comes to ames and lays an absolute egg, then nearly beats OSU on national TV like 5 days later?

It was odd, but what if Colorado played pretty well at ISU, and just got beat? Their defense looked pretty solid in both games. Perhaps our defense took away some of the things that they were trying to do on offense. -
Re: Colorado vs. Okie State
we need Boise St to lose tonight to help propel OKie St to a BCS game.

You could pretty much count on them doing themselves in if our defense struggled at all.

The Big 12 doesn't deserve two teams in BCS bowls this year.

If you compare OSU to their biggest competion for a BCS bowl - Iowa - in an "ugly wins against mediocre teams" contest, OSU still wins.
Note to Hawk lurkers. I'm not bashing Iowa. Just pointing out that they have had their share of close calls.

If we're comparing who deserves slots, you're probably down to OSU vs Iowa. OSU won a close one, without their starting QB. How should that hurt them? How many very close games has iowa won again? Especially against inferior teams at home (UNI, Arkansas State, michigan). Id still say OSU deserves it over iowa *at this point*. The OU game will be the big factor though.

Re: Colorado vs. Okie State
And the Big 10 never does but that doesn't stop them. We need the windfall that a second BCS game brings.

OSU is headed to the Cotton Bowl. Color me shocked. A Nebraska fan that thinks they have a better shot beating Texas in their back yard than Oklahoma State has going into Norman to win.
As far as I'm concerned, close wins can't hurt you that bad in the BCS. Iowa hasn't exactly won a bunch of games by a ton of points and they go up to what, #4?

Re: Colorado vs. Okie State
If close games count against teams in the BCS then Iowa shouldn't even be considered. OSU was without their QB, had a relatively small crowd on hand because of the Thursday night game, and probably wasn't too fired up to play a 4 win CU team with OU coming next week. They still managed to pull out the win (with their 3rd string QB). That's all that should matter here.
