“I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees"
Philosophy 101 per Mark Mangino.
And Mangino says he’s done nothing wrong and that he sees no need to change.

I don't think he could get down on his knees. If he did he would never get back up again.

In a related story, Mangino's feet said, "We're dying here!"

What the heck did he say??? I have been hearing these "some players say he was mean" crap for days now, with no examples????? I assume he dropped the N-word. The writer of this story you link is an idiot, obsessing about the KU school record for wins almost more than the substance of the accusations and the character assasination.
Trust me, knowing public school teachers' perils is that any punk kid can say "she called me a ______." and there are many who accept this as credible. Many kids learn this very young that they have power when they can make an totally false accusation.
Not a big Mangino fan, but I really think this whole story is a bunch of bunk.

It's more than 1 kid, and they aren't 12 years old. When wealthy alumni playing in the NFL come back to speak with the AD about his behavior, he has a major problem. In most jobs, it doesn't always matter if everything is true or not if you find yourself on the wrong side of the politics. That's just part of the human condition. You gotta win the people.
Personally, I think his performance on the field may be enough to get him canned. He took a senior-laden offense on a team that was picked by more than a few pundits to win the Big XII North and lost 7 straight games. That's a disaster. Most coaches would be in trouble.

How bad is Nebraska going to get beat this Saturday? Are they going to bring the Sun Belt championship with them?

I hope they do bring that championship. It's the only one they'll have after that game.
