Thank goodness no Harbaugh or Tuberville. I thought both of those were long shots though. I'm happy with Gill. Not real impressive.

Losing seasons in Buffalo 3 out of 4 years, including last year. Looks like he got out of town just in time.

I agree, this is really great news. I don't think Gill is much of a coach.

I am curious as to what happened with Harbaugh, though. Was he just not interested?

It will be interesting to see what happens with Kansas' recruits. A few are found to have doubts about Turner Gill. I'm hoping one or two that we recruited might give us a second chance.

Interesting how now all of a sudden everyone thinks Gill isn't a great coach, we should look back at the comments prior to CPR's hiring, seemed like he was most people's choice here.

Interesting is a good work for it. He did seem to be the people's choice, although CPRs name kept circling around.

They'll pay him way too much. I bet he gets a larger contract than what Mangino had.

That said, he'll be able to maintain their recruits because he relates well to players.

A year ago, he was sitting in a good position and he could afford to be picky about his next move. Since that time, he's added another losing season and the bloom is off the rose. His stock has dropped significantly, so the KU job looks like a smart move for him right now. His career record is Chizik-like, so it's time to get while the gettin is good.

He used KU to get a new contract from Stanford.

You may not think much of Gills' records at Buffalo, but we'll see what kind of staff he brings in. If he brings the same complete staff from Buffalo, we'll know pretty much what we're getting. Remember that not many from the B12 thought that CPR was much of a hire, even compared to Chizik, but his ability to bring in a really good staff so far seems to have made all the difference.
