Another Big12 Expansion thought
I don't post much, and this may have been tossed around, but... it seems that usually the talk of conference expansion indicates the Big12 would lose members to another conference. Instead of watching and waiting for the Big10 to make a move, the Big12 should be proactive and invite four schools to join the Big12 Conference: Minnesota, Illinois, and two of Arkansas, Indiana, and Notre Dame. I think that would satisfy the number of TV’s issue to keep current and new members happy. A Big12 TV Network could be formed. -

I'll give you my right arm if Minnesota, Illinois, or Indiana leaves the Big 10 for the Big 12. Hell, I'll give it to you if any of those schools even acknowledges they would consider the move.

I think it would be completely fan-dang-tastic if the Big 12 were to invite Minnesota, Illiniois, Arkansas, and Indiana, and probably the biggest coup ever in college sports if they were to join.
However, I just can't fathom any reasons why any of them would jump from their current conferences. Is Illinois unhappy in the Big Ten? Minnesota? Indiana? Arkansas in the SEC?

Re: Another Big12 Expansion thought
I don’t know if any are unhappy, but it gets old reading how the almighty Big10 can pick and choose members at will. It would be great if the Big12 could pry a few of the Big10 teams away. Maybe some of those teams would welcome the chance to play at warm-weather schools every now and then. -

This is why the Big 10 can do that, and why none of those teams will go to the Big 12... How the Big 12 teams rank in revenue-sharing funds - Big 12 Blog - ESPN -
Re: Another Big12 Expansion thought
Why would you want either (1) of those (3) ***** bag teams from the Big 10.
Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin are all pathetic.

Re: Another Big12 Expansion thought
I wonder if would be possible for the Big12 to make up that $50M difference between the Big10 and Big12 if the money generated by Minny, Illinois, and Indiana was subtracted from the Big10 and added to the Big12.
And maybe a new method of revenue sharing could be formed.
I'm sure we'll never know, as this will never happen. Just a thought.

Arkansas would fit like a glove in the Big 12, but there's no way any team from the SEC or Big 12 is going to walk away from a butt load of money to join the Big 12.

Its all about the money or lack thereof....btw Arkansas has already said it will stay in the SEC...They like both the money and the exposure that they get from the SEC!!!!!!!!!

Maybe try for BYU and Utah. Or TCU may be a nice fit too , they just dont have another school to bring with them.

Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin are all pathetic. I would take Wisconsin's success in FB and BBall in the last 20 years in a heartbeat.

I'm sure we'll never know, as this will never happen. Just a thought. More than likely not - Illinois, Minnesota, and Indiana aren't the revenue generators for the conference. Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio St, and Penn St (and to an extent Iowa and Wisconsin) are the revenue generators.
