Lew Perkins made $4.4 million in 2009

Has anybody else seen this article by the Kansas City Star on Kansas AD Lew Perkins. According to the report, Perkins made $4.4 million in 2009, which is the highest AD salary in America.

yah, it was out last week, lets see during Lew's tenure kansas has been serving probation for the football and basketball programs and now their athletic department is under a FBI and IRS probe. He may also have dodged further NCAA penalaties for the Darrell Arthur grade scandal. But hey ku made it to the Orange Bowl and won an NCAA basketball title recently.

What's better than having a coach who can get away with breaking the rules without getting caught? An AD who can get you out of it once you do.

Definitely not a KU fan, but most of that was in the form of one time retention bonus. Sounds like his annual salary is about $900K or so.
