Suh pledge 2.6 million to Neb
NFL.com - Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is widely expected to be one of the top five picks in the draft. Once he signs, he'll become a very wealthy man. He's already sharing the wealth.
According to the Omaha World-Herald, Suh has pledged to donate $2.6 million to Nebraska.
A whopping $2 million will go toward the football program's strength and conditioning program that helped to make him a likely top-three draft pick. Another $600,000 is ticketed for scholarship for students of Nebraska's School of Engineering. Suh earned his construction management degree from the school in December.

Phew - That was close! Nebraska football was just inches away from being ridiculously over funded to just obscenely over funded.
Actually, I heard it was just a pre-emptive move on Suh's part to enable him to complain about the program in the future!

Actually, he is just "repaying" Nebraska.

Good for him. Shows a lot of class.

Classy.
I hope they don't fumble it all away.
I apologize.

Looks like somebody has a good tax accountant. Charitable donation to offset his signing bonuus. Good strategy really...

I heard he had to pay back the university after they covered his midseason crash up derby episode......hope he throws some of that money back to the driver's education.

Suh is just one classy individual. Every interview I have seen of him since the season ended and the awards came showering down on him exudes class and humility (not to mention a lot of "salesmanship" towards the University of Nebraska and it's football program). The article states that his gift is the largest single gift by a former Nebraska player to the University, which when you stop to think about the nearly 50 years of success the school has had at sending players to the NFL is quite astounding. Especially when you think that the gift was made prior to his receiving a dime from an NFL team.
Every school needs guys like him as alumni members. And to think Nebraska nearly lost him during the transition between Callahan and Pelini. Everything you read tells you that he was pretty disgusted with the way things had gone under the Callahan administration and came very close to transferring to the University of Oregon prior to meeting the new staff.

Exactly. He is a great person but this is also very, very smart.

Great point. Any player can get disenchanted with their coaching situation and want to transfer. Everything he's done on and off the field has been classy and selfless, regardless of that.
Just goes to show that it's unfair to categorize today's athletes as all the same.... a lesson our AD should learn...

As much as I would like to make fun of NU here, I can't. Classy move by Su.
